Any Downieville Calif riders? Shuttle vs E bike pedal up?

I have come across a couple of YT videos where they pedal up 1-Yuba trail and the 2- The 2nd divide trail. I plan to shuttle the 2nd day but for a casual 10 mile loop the 1st afternoon I'm there the 2nd divide up and back looks like a good one!

Bosch walk mode uses how much battery?

Makes the most sense! I did a ride that had a lot of pushing the e bike uphill and at the time I did not know the 'walk assist' feature even existed. What a life saver learning to use this feature has been! In a 2 or 3 hour ride I may use it 1-3 x for 10' 25' so I'm not too concerned about the...

Any Downieville Calif riders? Shuttle vs E bike pedal up?

My drummer is a motorcyclist who has a group of friends who go to Downeyville Ca to ride. He invited me and I am wondering if I should take the 'Amish bike' or e bike due to the shuttles they run to the top of the Mt? Anyone ride there with an e bike?

    LETS SEE YOUR RIDE FOOTAGE

This is '8,500 elevation and the Shuttle am chews it up like nothing. When it got a little more chunky I could have went for it but the last thing I wanted was to get bucked off the back Ended up dialing in the walk assist mode. As long as the front wheel is not hung up it works great to not...

    New ride almost killed me

thanks mate! They have texture, Unless, there is gravel or what we call 'kitty litter'. Then you can wash out a front wheel. That and the exit roll outs had my attention. Being a new trail it made it even more sketch coupled with heat exhaustion meant my core energy caused me to feel like a rag...

    New ride almost killed me

Agreed but I have zero say in trail building up here. The guys I go out there love the 'terror chunk' Having just come back from Tahoe, my grip is our more flowy trails have way too tight of turns and could be opened up to punch out of one into the next. But thanks for the comments and...

    Some Tahoe riding footage!

It rained hard Sat pm then again Mon afternoon so we had 'hero dirt all 3 days. I had never ridden there. It's like they rake every inch daily. Amazing and super flowy separated by a little chunk here and there. Perfect for a rad trip! This was the first time riding with a long time rock...

    New ride almost killed me

Just the way I'm used to riding. I work in physio therapy and treated enough thumb replacement patients that I'm very aware of over use that can leads to joint failure

    New ride almost killed me

Just came from Tahoe where the trails I did were a good mix of flow and chunk. The steep and mega slab rolls drops ect terrain like you see here don't have the terrain to have much flow it's all techy and terrifying. You build a trail on what the Mt gives you.

    New ride almost killed me

On a day when it was 107* in Calif 30 mins down the hill we opted to pedal up 5k elev and then do some of the most technical riding 2x harder than other local chunky trails. THEN, you have to hike/lift 50lb bike over boulders out of the canyon. Something I did not know was going to happen. We...

Anyone get too much assist causing crazy wheelie or crash?

Second weekend riding super gnar chunk and rolls with a couple of close calls from speed. Going into steep or chunk I am careful to not punch it with the assist too much, however in the faster flow sections where there are tight tress or coming out of a turn it's super fun to get up to speed...

    Bosch warning light?

I thank you, the video, however with out the info about the app I would have made an un needed trip to the bike shop. The app/iphone has to be on my person or the orange comes on meaning no major problems so huge thank you to posters above to clarify that!! ,

How do you carry your bike across sketchy swollen creek and river crossings?

With the past 2 massive winters here on the west coast we have creeks that look like class 4 rivers. There are logs to walk across and with my 30lb analog bike no problem, there is however one crossing that is a twig of a log at the start and the rope is low and pulls you left. My new Pivot...
