Has anyone priced up the upgrades (dropper brakes drivetrain forks shock.. yeah it's a long list) needed to make a base model Levo a capable trail bike, vs buying one of the pricier models?
Reasoning: I don't need the 700wH battery. The carbon frame is nice but not a must have.
yup you absolutely need pitzips.
all the same I find it's a case of wet from the inside or wet from the outside.
main thing is to stay warm, dry is less important though linked of course.
most you can do yourself. the first time you have to buy the tools, which will probably cost a few quid but less than having a shop do it. after that it's free.
then you get to know your bike better, you build the bike you want, you know it's done properly, you don't have to schlep about in...
I don't think it needs an internal battery, I like its hidden from crud but easily swappable, a generic part, and not weakening the end of the tube.
I'd like to see an e-trail bike from Intense. And Evil.
you probably do more miles than on a regular bike, and even if not those you do are under more power.
you'll probably need to change your chain too.
it's not a warranty issue. chains cassettes chainrings are consumables just like brake pads.
good job on riding it lots and wearing it out!
I'm doing a bike test on Monday lunchtime, probably mostly around Leith & Holmbury classics, over to Pitch & Winterfold if there's time & energy. Ping me on a conversation if anyone fancies it.
Got a chest infection so pace will be relaxed. Singletrack rather than loony gnarly stuff. Might be...
Habit sits in the Levo space. Looks OK to me.
Bosch bikes don't seem to bother with a shroud/external casing for the motor, which seems to be a crud bucket on the Levo**.
