You spent a lot of money on a product. it should work. In UK a product has to be "fit for purpose" or you can send it back for a refund. Sounds like yours isn't.

I would do no more and send it straight back to where it came from.

shame to hear. it's plausible they're running out stock so getting to the back of the warehouse. stock management wouldn't necessarily be first in first out. yeah that would be logical but we don't live in that world.
