My personal best is 55 miles and 14,140 feet of ascent.
All done in a mix of emtb and turbo modes and still had half of a 625w battery left.
It was in Morzine tho so might have cheated a bit on the ascents 🤔
The problem isn’t really about paying a bit of tax. The main problem is if they are moved into a different class of vehicle they could be banned from everywhere except the road which would be a disaster.
My vote would be for you to just derestrict your bike if you think the limit holds you back so much.
It would seemingly also free up a lot of your spare time.
I think the current limit is perfectly fine 99% of the time. Like others have said why draw attention to ourselves, it could back fire massively. I’m very happy at the moment not having to MOT, tax or insure my ebike unlike every other vehicle I own.

I’d guess 80-90% in EMTB mode and the rest in Turbo for the really steep but not loose stuff.
I don’t get any pleasure out of tour or eco modes. I’ve only ever used them on the flat if I thought I was pushing it on range.
I would use a carbon frame protector like something off a Thule bike carrier clamp and hold it by the top tube.
You could place it on the open clamp stand easily and get the bike sitting level and then carefully nip up the clamp to stop it moving around.
It wouldn’t need to be any tighter...

Motorbikes are better value on the face of it but cost a lot more to maintain.

This is my dream, a combined motor and pinion gearbox with gates belt, I've been wishing for this for a few years. Makes total sense and much less maintenance. Good riddance derailleur and chain!
Can’t remember what mine came with apart from the charger, everything else got thrown in the “shite drawer” along with similar stuff from other bikes I’ve bought.
Yes if you’re climbing indoors or on a top rope outside you can stop and give in when it gets too bad and shake it out.
You can’t really do that when leading outside when you’re too far from your last piece of gear and facing serious injury or even death if you let go of the rock!
Take up Rock climbing then you’ll experience what real arm pump is!
After around 15 years of climbing I have never had arm pump on a bike, my legs on the other hand go to jelly way sooner than I’d like!
