Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Thanks, the color is growing on me! Good to know about the dealer assisting with the tidying up of the cockpit. I am so used to doing my own maintenance and part replacements that I didn't even think to ask my Trek dealer if they would do it for me. I also have the same issue with the...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Yeah, never planned to keep it stock. Mostly take offs from my other frame. Lyrik, DD tires, We are One wheels (with XD driver), SRAM XO1. I would have gone with a matte black 9.5 if there was nearby. But what are you gonna do? Hell yes fenders! haha. They weigh nothing and keep the backside...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Just got my 9.7 in Matte PennyFlake over the weekend. Had to drive a little over an hour to pick it up (central San Diego to South Orange County with some traffic). Just one ride so far, but completely blown away--mainly because it feels so natural with the light weight and power delivery...

    2022 Santa Cruz Heckler

I have the R build. But I purchased with the plan to switch over parts I had already and in some cases buy new. I think the wheelset isn't great, but it is also probably ok if you are not too picky. I've never used it. It is heavy, but I assume would hold up to some abuse as a consequence. The...

Totally agree, it is a poppy, playful bike.

    2022 Santa Cruz Heckler

I had assumed you meant to keep it at 160. I haven't ridden a Zeb. Depends on how you ride and your terrain. If you have a lot of high speed rocky terrain and ride at speeds that can potentially lead to flex/binding, you will definitely see benefit by going with the 38. If you ride mainly flow...

    2022 Santa Cruz Heckler

I do and I would. Especially since you sound like a big guy (over 200 on an XL?). If you go 38, you may want to get the e-tune. Otherwise, it could feel a bit harsh. You should expect it to change the character slightly. Calmer when hitting rock gardens fast, but just a little harder to pick the...

    2022 Santa Cruz Heckler

Yep. I have the oneup v2. I have it as far in as I can get it, but it still has a good amount of post showing. I was able to eek out 160 though, which is fine, but not ideal.

    2022 Santa Cruz Heckler

I purchased the medium R build and it was a 150. Unfortunately the frame design doesn't allow you to slam it. I normally ride a 185 bike yoke and I also have a 170 axs reverb. Neither of them would work for me. I had to go with my oneup 180 and drop it to 160 via the shims. Not ideal for me tbh.

    2022 Santa Cruz Heckler

Not yet. I received a 600lb I recently ordered (I'm about 200lbs riding weight), but haven't had a chance to put it on. The 550 is doing well with the compression dialed up a few more clicks, perhaps at the expense of a little less small bump compliance. No complaints really, but assume I will...

    2022 Santa Cruz Heckler

Not personally. But 6 or so of my riding buddies have them. All on stumpys and enduros. I am pretty sure they are all running coils after getting the cascade link. My understand is that it creates a softer off the top feel and travel is linearly progressive (basically predictably progressive as...

Also, thanks for sending out your link to the benefit of the rest of us that are interested! I think you said you had two hecklers, so at least you won't be sidelined while they develop it.

2022 Heckler Recall: "Battery could fall out".

Yeah, Santa Cruz's rep was on it, so it doesn't seem like SC's fault. They reached out about 30 mins after I filled out the warranty claim, identified my shop, and said they would get the parts out there asap. That was all on May 5th. But whateves, it's not that big of a deal as long as it gets...

    2022 Santa Cruz Heckler

Coil is money. I haven't ridden it with an air shock still, but don't really see the point. The review recently posted by Loam Wolf (in a nutshell-- very playful bike, fast, but somewhat harsh off the top and a bit out of its element in the rough, also rear can get hung up on slow tech) is not...

2022 Heckler Recall: "Battery could fall out".

I followed up with my dealer the morning the recall fix was issued by SC. I thought they would have received the parts by now, but they said the B2B site indicates in it coming in 1-2 weeks. Strange. I'm in San Diego, so it is not like I am in a remote location. Oh well. Used to the strap by now...

2022 Heckler Recall: "Battery could fall out".

Awesome! My LBS is still waiting on them to arrive as far as I know. They were contacted on the day we all received the notice. Hopefully it will be soon. Let us know how it goes!

2022 Heckler Recall: "Battery could fall out".

I received an email from SC today instructing me to set up an appointment with my local SC dealer to have the latch fix installed.

2022 Heckler Recall: "Battery could fall out".

When I refer to the "catch" I am referring to when you use the 4mm and it initially pops away from the frame, there is a secondary catch that prevents it from just falling out. That is what wasn't spaced properly and it would miss the battery until I moved the lower bracket up just a bit...

2022 Heckler Recall: "Battery could fall out".

It would click in just fine, making an audible click sound. But the metal catch wasn't actually catching. I adjusted the bracket at the bottom to snug it up a bit and now the catch works as it should. I never felt like it wasn't in there securely though even before I made that small adjustment...
