Is it float x for the X0 and XX builds too?

Hoping not, pretty disappointing if it comes with a float X!

So that would mean the black SC on their website is actually the 2026 Bullit, funny!

My regular MTB has a Float X Performance Elite & my eMTB is running the updated X2 Factory...I think I prefer the Float X. The 24-25 Float X2 isn't as plush as before since the revision with smaller negative air volume.

Santa Cruz released some 2026 Builds with the new SRAM Eagle 70 & 90 drivetrains, I think the 90 build is pretty good value wise for a carbon eMTB if you're fine with the 600wh.

Ah, it’s still the old X2. I would think it would be the new X2, maybe it will when they finally release it. I’ll still probably buy one and ride it until I get my Crestline built up

These photos are just renders, so most likely they were forced to use the old X2 in order to release pics to dealers.

Hi guys

may I ask if the release date for the new SC Bullit is 15.4.2025 - is this confirmed/correct?
And I read here in the forum that the new Bullit shall have 600W battery only - same as Vala and less than Bullit Gen 1. Is this realistic (hopefully not, I hope they offer 2 sized to please all potential customers).

Do you know if it will be built in or replaceable for charging?

Thank you in advance
Wolfgang

Don’t know about release date but it has 170/170 travel, 600wh battery which is removable if you drop the motor.

Thank you. Why they equip the bullit with only 600 wh battery someone can eyplain. I mean they are not competitive with that to all relevant competitors who have 750-900wh (new Levo from what one reads here in the Levo group will be positioned from light to classic enduro and is eligible for up to 180mm in the front what one can read provodes 840wh + optional range extender), are they?

Even the Heckler hat 750 wh.
by the way: can someone explain the difference between 160/150 Heckler and the new 160/150 Vala? I don't understand it

Thanks a lot

Some, like me. Would rather a lighter bike for 75% of the riding I do and then use the range extender for longer rides. Lighter bikes ride a lot better, that’s the trade off.

It’s not for you if you need more than 600wh, plenty of ugly bikes with bigger batteries.

I’m curious to understand how Norco’s latest Sight VLT has an 800Wh non-removable battery with the same motor and travel as the Vala, but with high pivot that’s only 48lbs…

Exactly. The Norco's are generally pretty heavy. Also, aren't they listed with a Lyric, not a 38? That's a pound right there.

Saw a black Bullit today in Tweed Valley and dang it's hot! 🔥🔥🔥
I run into Danny Mac on my local trails all the time. I know he’s got one of these already but every time I see him he’s on the Vala. I asked him about the Bullit the last time I saw him and he just smiled😂🤣

Norco Sight VLT is released April 02 I believe. I've seen the C1 in the flesh. It was being built up - long stroked (Vivid rear, Zeb front) and I heard (anecdotally) that it still may be under 50lb for this modified build.

I'm cross shopping the Bullit with the Sight (which I would turn into a 160/170 with Vivid/Zeb) and the two biggest issues are battery size difference (600wh vs. 800wh) and sizing. I'm 6' 3.5" so right on the cusp of XL/XXL for SC, but the Norco puts me easily on an XXL.

Any other riders comparing these bikes at a similar height to me? Would love to hear feedback on sizing and reasoning.

I was keen on the new Sight since it's launch in October but haven't seen anything since. I know it was delayed but still a really loong wait for it. And while I love Norco ( had an Optic which I've endurofied it to death) it's just crazy expensive to get them in Europe.

What’s your saddle to BB height and preferred reach? I’m your same height but we probably have different length legs and arms.

I'll have to check that measurement, but I have longer legs, average torso and ape index is around 1.
I currently ride a Madonna v2.2 with 505 reach, 50mm stem and seat slammed forward, nose tipped down for steeper STA and climbing comfort.

I'm not exactly your same size, but I am 6'2" and I've demo'd a Large and XL vala. On the XL, with the 240mm oneup... I had the post pretty close to slammed in the frame to achieve a 30.5" center of BB/Spindle to top of saddle (top near or just above the CL of the seat clamping area). Typically, I like an enduro bike at 495-500mm reach, a short travel trail bike or xc bike at 485-490mm reach. With emtb's I want to be in that 485-495 range as I typically like an emtb 5-10mm shorter then the same capability/capacity pedal bike.

Said another way, I think you really should demo both the XL and XXL. I have a hunch, that you'll prefer the XL, center the saddle on the rails and a 45-50mm stem. Mostly because a full power/weight ebike that is 5-10mm shorter, will manual similarly to your madonna with a 505 reach.

Thanks for the insight. I haven't pedaled a Vala (no option to demo near me) and know that the sizing between the Vala geometry and Bullit is within a few mm of each other. I love pushing the saddle forward on the rails for the steepest seat angle possible. The Bullit would be good here as it's a straight seat tube and no kink. Actual and effective seat tube should be close, if not the same.
I pedaled a Norco Sight size 4 (XL equivalent) around a parking lot. The bar height felt low (short headtube and 20mm rise bar installed) and could be remedied with a higher rise bar. The seated bike position felt quite short.
I'm interested that people tend to size down/prefer the smaller of two sizes when in-between sizing for an ebike. Norco sizing looks so skewed - Reach on size 4 is 497.5mm and 522.5 on the size 5. But size 5 is recommended for 6' 1"+ !!
