Shin Guards. Suggestions

I've protected my knees with Dakine Knee guards but every time I crash, not that I've crashed that often mind, I always end up bashing my shins. I've just returned some Face Race Flank knee and shin guards as they just felt too cumbersome. There was too much material and velcro etc' and they felt very warm on. Can anyone recommend some shin guards. The G Form ones look quite good and probably offer a better solution as I imagine you can roll them down. I would think that soccer ones would be OK but soccer and mountain biking are so different that perhaps not. Any suggestions, I need to protect my shins. Or should I just man up? Or are there better knee and shin combo guards?

Went through a similar process last week :

Today's lessons & knee/shin pad advice wanted - EMTB Forums

Decided on the Sondico ones for £5.49 in the end , but sports direct wouldn't ship them to france for some reason, so have ordered some adidas ones which were plain black to test out and report back on ....

Another vote for G Form...go for the Elite if you can.
Can you roll or slide them down to control temperature? Do you mean knee or knee and shin? The knee and shin protectors are almost £100 but I would buy them if they work.

I wear separate knee pads and shin pads...both g form. Neither cause much heat build up. Both are compression fit with gripper material top and bottom...no velcro or straps. The shin pads sizing is largely about the gripper material fitting the narrower circumference of your legs above and below the calf muscle. If you fold the gripper band over you can slide them down to your ankles...thats how you take them off as well. I always wear the knee pads but usually only add the shins pads for trails with bramble and nettle or branches sticking out into the trail.

After trying a pair of Race face knee and shin guards and a pair of similar Fox ones, I've ended up buying some Endura Singletrack shin protectors. They were significantly cheaper than the other two but more to the point felt better on.
