Who uses vans? My self converted Transit.

Hi guys I'm fairly new to the forum but been involved in Mtb since 91 and tend to spend most of my time on Retrobike.

That being said in 2015 I bought the first gen levo and have not looked back.

Transport was a big issue so I decided to convert a van, that was short lived as I wanted bigger so started to built the transit in 21.

240 hook up, 240 off grid, heating, shower, solar panels and built in pressure washer.

This turned into a grou0 of us doing it and now travel all over the UK riding.

Anyone one else have a van they built for the love of the bikes?

I so but sadly it has to go back to being a plumbers van on monday morning.

never a worse time to do it, I went to buy a new van cos ive had mine 5 years but since I bought the last one, they have doubled in price and I have lost almost no value from mine if I were to sell it (adjusted for VAT)

I wish I had the funds to get a van and convert it a bit. Planning a weekend in wales and the price for my usual camp site has more than tripled since last year. Not much more to get a room in a travelodge. Not as much fun but camping is supposed to be cheap, rather stay in comfort for that price. A van like this would be ideal just to park up somewhere and sleep in the back. I’ll keep daydreaming until I win the lottery.

It really doesn't have to be a costly exercise.

My first one was a £1,500 07 transit connect.

Most are already ply lined, just carpet it.

Lesure battery £100
Inverter £150
Simple bed frame (stud work £3 per length)
Inflatable mattress £10
Sleeping bag £30
Carpet and glue £200

It also sold for nearly 4k on e bay when it decided to move to a larger van.

perfect, I had the LWB with high top and you can get an MX bike in there if you want to.. MTB and bed, dead easy. they are bloody good little vans
