I think a smoke alarm in my garage would be a good idea.

Reassuring in the video that the ebike battery pack in metal enclosure didn't ignite after being completely crushed!

In storage, I keep all my ebike batteries in fireproof/lipo bags at room temperature in a dry and well-ventilated area generally my basement. And yes, smoke alarm detectors should always be installed.
