Well...got a Yamahammer...Moro 7

With the crazy Yamaha emtb blowout going on, just couldn't resist the deal. They're getting out of the MTB and snowmobile business completely I was told. Their sleds have been basically Arctic Cats with a Yamaha engine for years though. The spec on this seems really good for the money. XT components, Magura brakes, Maxis tires etc... Yamaha makes the frame and motor in house. For the price, it's pretty awesome. The dealer said he's sold over 200 since September. There were several others picking up their assembled bikes when I got there yesterday. I took mine in a box and assembled it myself. Really nice looking bike. Hopefully I get to ride it soon.

One thing I did notice is the Yamaha motor seems really small compared to the Bosch and Shimano. I did ride it around the street for a minute to set the brakes and noticed the motor is basically silent..at least on the road with no bumps. Holy crap...putting a seat on a bike is a REAL pain. I must be stupid or something, but that took longer than un-boxing, putting on the front wheel and bars, the grips and pedals (which are horrible as usual). The seat has a nice lift point on the rear which is nice.

Did you order it online and have it shipped to the bike shop or did they have them in stock? Was the price the same as online?

I'm not sure why those two bolts and the rail bracket are an issue for you. Usually I barely put the bolts in then slide the seat on and finger tighten both bolts to get the seat angle n position I want then tighten both bolts evenly. Also make sure you clean your rotors with a degreaser before you bed in your brake pads. Exciting times now get out n ride ride ride !!

I simply called a Yamaha dealer I knew of last weds/thurs and he said the bike I wanted (Dual Blue Moro 7 in medium) was available. He got my name etc and he picked up the boxed unit at the warehouse the next day. I picked it up at the dealership Saturday. $2,750ish OTD. He had several bikes in stock mainly Moro 5's and gravel bikes...but not the exact one I wanted. That's why he picked on up for me at the warehouse.

As long as they stick to their promise of warranty and any updates,why not keep buying their bikes
Long as you get at least a couple of years riding out of it that would be OK by me

I doubt Yamaha is going to stay out of the American market for long. Ebikes are here to stay. I'm still waiting to see when Honda is going to enter the fold.

I read the other day that Yamaha was getting out of the ebike business in the USA. Alluding to the low profitability of emoters in the States. I read that as competition from the zillion of ebikes flooding the American market. Idk but the fact they are closing out current models, it made sense. Obviously Yamaha as a company is not going anywhere.
i brought the Wabash RT gravel bike and happy with it. Yes its not as strong as the Bosch motor in my Cube Sterero 140.Of course the Cube is alomost 4x the price before discount.
