There is another question! If there is a puncture, how do you figure out which valve to pump? 🤔 I am more for this option that will allow you small air compartments for bulletproof tyres when riding and entertainment when stopping at a pub!

I’m probably not going to ride with more than 3 hand-held-air pumps. 3 is enough IMO. (or 3 Co2 cartridges).

Btw…those are cool 😎, how’d you do that?

Ps; I could wait until the OP returns for an answer. Setting my alarm clock ⏰.

That's a decent allegory for this thread. There you are in a galaxy that has light speed travel, laser guns & a moon sized planet destroying weapon but no apparent means of transmitting a relatively modest data file other than sticking it up a robot's flue & sending it off on a perilous journey across the cosmos. It doesn't make any sense.

Actually, this is one part of the Star Wars universe that is consistent. If you transmitted the file by radio to a destination 10 light years away, it would take 10 years to get there, far too late to be of use. Sending the file on a physical medium via a Faster-Than-Light hyperdrive makes sense. Unless there's an explicit FTL communication technology, such as Star Trek's subspace communication.

Just a suggestion, and since auto-correct is helping me to spell “technology” correctly, wouldn’t a worm-hole work?

Maybe I should just stay in my lane and concentrate on psi ?

You might run into trouble with the triple tripod triangle pyramid philosophy when using CO2, better go for CO or CO3!

🤔 What? Using 3 Co2 cartridges at a time? Bulletproof tyre building or clowneries at the pub upon last call?

That whole damn worldwide emtb-forum grumpy old men pack has done that! Some even during the night, just to make sure to not miss it during our usual 3-5-toilet runs a night! Now, what everybody is looking for is to have a good explanation when being up in the bathroom during the night, following this topic with that earlier mentioned stupid smile on the face and keeping laughing out loud for no apparent reason. There is a high risk for being banned by your local administration to enter back in the bedroom for a night or three.

Aaargh, that remembers me that I recently had to Fedex larger volume of data on a memory stick across the ocean as receiver was not able to download the earlier easily uploaded files from his stock-companies run cloud server. No kidding.

Right O then , need to start again , i just don't have the time to respond to all the question , comments, fan mail etc , so from now on , first to ask a question , i will respond, THEN the next person can post/ ask a question ,[comprende].
For the "Forest Gumps" that keep asking about the "cross over of the tube", for christ sake , think about it , NO, but it makes no difference if it does cross over, just google"fitting a 29inch tube to 27.5 tyre" , where the tube is tucked into itself becomes the strongest part. And also , take into consideration that i might be banned after each response , so there could be a delay.

Question number 1:

Do you really expect us to believe that you actually drilled a rim and stuffed 2 tubes in it? In relation to your previous message from 48hrs ago.

Honestly maybe 48hrs ban windows would help my internet addiction, and Ari is the only sane person here...

Please share some photos. Ideally a how to video and ride testing.

After some initial skepticism, I am fully on board with this concept. No need to remove a tyre if you get a puncture at the trail, just inflate the other one more.

Guess I’d need to get a T-piece adaptor for the track pump, balancing pressures would be fiddly otherwise

bikeparts.co.uk have great deals on inner tubes just now - £15 for 10 tubes for those who want to try 2 or more tubes!

Question Number 2:

Please specify tyre dimensions (Dia & Width) and dimensions of the two tubes to be used. Tubes can not be regular tube sizes for the tyre (see Schwalbe), or am I wrong?🤔

My hypothesis: Ari is actually an agent for Big Tube.

Since the popularity of going tubeless, the inner-tube manufacturers have been losing sales and thus money, and this is their cunning plan to revive sales.

(The above to be taken in no way seriously)

What’s this? A cunning plan to drive adoption of the Twin Tube standard, then later a shift to Tripple Tubing? Big tube are sneaky 😏

Our Tubeless brethren are feeling left out but could strike back by drilling several new valve holes (4 or 6 would look nice) , fitting valves, and then pouring a different brand of sealant into each one. Not as exciting as Twin Tubes though….

Yeah, thats correct but can be quickly balanced. A very practical advantage of multiple valves in a tubeless rim is that when checking air pressure you do not have to turn the wheel until valve is in handy position! In a side effect the wheel will be much better weight balanced! Only the valve-in-rim-to-text-on-the-tyre fetishists might get in a limbo.

But we are drifting away from answer to question #2 and trimagical question #3 to come.

Note: When signing in I never expected that this forum would be such an outstanding Think Tank!

I used 2x 1.95x29 in a 2.60 tyre. Could/should use larger tubes to minimize the ballooning effect .

OK. This seems to be engineeringly plausible. You only inflate one tube, and the other tube is ready to inflate when you get a puncture.

I guess if you were getting lots of punctures it's worth the experiment. But if you still have to stop and inflate the spare tube. It wouldn't take me much longer to whip the tube out, and fit a spare. My wheels come off pretty easily.

Oh BTW. The reason I don't go tubeless, is because I change my tyres regularly, depending on the riding I'm doing. And it was very messy with tubeless.
