This is on the watch list so rather than continuing to waste the moderators time with this thread I'll respond publicly.

You post a thread which sound like an April fools joke - even if you're serious.

You think we should ban 6 people who have a good sense of humour - for being humorous and you think that's a reasonable course of action ??

Why would we delete your thread ? You haven't asked us ? If we did, you'd complain that we were being unfair.

When you initially REPEATEDLY (we're not deaf or blind even if some are old and incontinent) reported your own thread, we suggested you explained further purporting the advantages and disadvantages of your proposal - you didn't.

You then continued to report people responding to the thread and STILL didn't engage in any form of discussion.

When people did respond with more serious proposals - you STILL didn't respond.

What is it exactly that you want ? You haven't actually discussed your proposal further in the thread.

To make things clear, if you use the report function again without it being reasonable you will be banned from the forum as people have better things to do with their lives than dealing with your time timewasting.

Likewise, if you think this is a discussion - it isn't ! Keep the thread on track if you wish - that's your call - any response will be taken as a request for your account removal.
Everything in your post is either wrong and or opposite, ban me then and keep the toxic culture going, no shortage of it in the embt world, you are leading the pack[and stop guessing ,thats where you are failing]

My response, while obtuse, was based on fundamental quantum theory. At the shop I have seen, heard, and come up with my own crazy ideas over the past 30 years. I have never heard of two tubes before, so bravo to your creative thinking. Don't stop being imaginative, just remember MTBers are a surly crowd.

Bro.... get a grip and let it go! We all know there are a bunch of grumpy old men on this forum that sometimes have nothing better to do after they have had their daily ride, washed their bikes and oiled their chains than to respond to a post or two on here but mostly they have lots of valuable insight and experience. Why give that up? Where is Gary when you need him? At least you got a response!
In response to your original post, it was difficult to take it seriously when you combine something way out there like "two tubes" in one rim and being a "cheap arse" but it did make me think of the following (but it is not cheap and not really two tubes in one rim.)

Keep fighting the fight @ari, don’t let these grumpy old luddites put you off. Stick a second tube in and report your findings!

@ari Don't abandon the site, take a deep breath and carry on. Return with a different username if you prefer, but don't cut off your nose to spite your face, this site has value. :)
^^^^ This. You'll need this forum, more than this forum needs you. There are so many answers to issues you'll come across.

Don't throw out the seeds, just because it mixed in with chaff.

Unfortunately the OP seems to expect everyone to conform to his rules and ideas but is incapable of following the forum's rules, so Ari has elected to take a couple of days away for reflection.
It's a shame Ari has got upset with us.
This forum is excellent for information and having a bit of fun along the way!

That's a shame, as I have a question about his proposal...

If you're going to drill an extra hole in the rim, where do you do it? 180° from the original? Surely that's going to end up in the inner tubes crossing over each other at some point, which is going to cause problems when you inflate them?

You'd almost have fill in the original hole and make 2 new ones - one on the left, and one on the right of the rim... and then have a left and right tube which go in side by side rather than ontop of each other?

I'm also wondering, what are you hoping to gain from 2 tubes? One punctures, and the other stays inflated? As they'd both potentially have half the pressure, you'd have to stop and inflate the non burst one. Is tubeless not easier?

Not sure why I'm even putting any consideration into this, as it seems like a ludicrous idea... but I'm intrigued by your thinking!

Loving the replies by the way - I do enjoy the forums creativity 👍

You're all missing a trick, ari is a genius, it's two tubes, two, name me something were one is better than two.
And in this case potentially 4

Toxic culture? This is one of the best, if not the best, for a warm and welcoming website. Yes, it has a sense of humour and thank heavens for that! The people on here, when not ripping the piss and having a laugh are very helpful indeed. The instances of people being unpleasant and making personal attacks are almost zero. :)

Try not to be overly sensitive, just assume that humorous comments are just that, humorous comments meant to entertain and not snide sneering attacks. I am confident that if all the people that wrote the humorous comments said exactly the same to your face, that it would have been accepted. They would have been smiling and you would have seen that. And if they had seen on your face that their comment was not received well, they would have either changed mid comment or apologised at the end of it. But that is difficult to do on line. So, I always assume that the poster was well intended unless it is clearly meant maliciously. I have found that to be very rare on this site.

Unfortunately, you are now the one making unpleasant comments that are difficult to perceive as anything other. :(

Well, during my ban , i did it ,and it works great . In a sharp rocky section of the track [where iv had several pinch flats] it was fine , wheel is more balanced , rolling resistance is better,, and , the dimwit that suggested that the tubes will catch fire from the friction , no it didn't . I do realise MTB riders are couple of sandwiches short of a picnic[e riders more so] , so i forgive you all for the dumbass comments , even the numbnut moderators .

Edit: Congratulations, you’ve just earned yourself another holiday. Mod.

Do you have pics. I want try this.

Are the tubes beside each other, thus requiring offset holes, or do you have a twist ?

How do you inflate them, to get even pressure ?

Have you tried simulating a puncture in one, to test if the pressure in the other is enough to prevent a pinch ?

Drill the hole opposite to the original hole , stick in the 2 tubes beside each other[ just the cheap$5 tubes from kmart etc , 1.95], with plenty of baby powder . Pressures im still experimenting with , but can do any combination . Pretty sure i will get a puncture sometime, let you know.

As per my previous comment - that must mean the tubes cross over each other? I'd have thought the only way to make this work would be to put the tubes side by side?
