This video by one of my favorite YouTubers is about road testing cars, but you can easily substitute 'mtb' for 'car' (and probably divide the amount of money involved by 100 or maybe much more). My outlook on life is similarly based on facts, data, and engineering, which is why I have to ignore subjective feedback such as "playful", "poppy", and "mid-stroke support". These descriptions are a result of measurable parameters such as wheel, fork, and frame stiffness, spring rates, damping curves, anti-squat, and anti-dive.

Whether you agree or not, this guy provides a well-reasoned and entertaining presentation on why road test (and I'm claiming ride test) reviews generally suck.
