Levo Gen 3 T-type on Gen3 - different chain lengths for low and high

So I have been researching adding T-type to my S4 levo.

Seems that according to Sram, if I run the bike in High, I need to use 116 links, if I run in low I need to use 118. Does that mean I need two different chains every time I want to swap bb height?

How badly will ti effect the shining and rear mech if I just choose one chain length say 118 and use if for both Hight and low ?

Contact SRAM, let us know what you find out. That’s a good question. It would suck to have to change the chain when you change the flip chip…

Double check your chainring size, looks like you have two different sizes for the chaining also your chainstay length one says 440 and the other 445

Are you on a S4 ? checked again. With a 32 I still get two different chain lenghts for low and high

with a 34T I can run the same chain length. So perhaps best to upgrade to a 34T then there wind be a problem.

Ok, on a 34 seems its the same, but on a 32 you need change lengths.

My chain was cut for the high setting, I tried to run it in the low setting but it shifted awful. I played around with micro shift but it didn’t make any difference. I ended up buying another chain and cut it to 120 links for the low position.

Keep in mind that "officially" SRAM doesn't recommend re-using the quick link, so every time you change between chains you're theoretically going to use a new $5 chain link. I'd probably just try riding the longer chain on both setups anyway.

I remove my chains for cleaning all the time so I’ve been reusing the quick link even though it’s not recommended. I did run across a site that had them labeled wrong and bought all their stock, got them for £4 each I have enough left to last me a few years I think.
