Levo Gen 3 Transmission T-Type chain ring, which one?

Hope has a new direct mount chainring for the Levo that’s for T-type chains, it keeps the 52mm chainline. I’ve got one on order, should be here later this week.

I've ordered the "Brose" T-Type GX AXS setup which is due to be delivered in the next hour or so, I'm aware the DM Chainring included with the kit won't fit so I've ordered a cheap 104BCD ring too, but naturally i REALLY want that Direct Mount look.

The Hope R22 has been on my shopping list for awhile... definitely interested to see if it "just works" - especially if your using the Praxis cranks, does it look naff or is it fine (I do have cranks on the wishlist aswell though!)

I'm also torn between 34/36T, I do find myself doing extreme shifts of like 4/5 gears so I was thinking a 36T would keep me doing 2/3 shifts without losing too much climb.

For those who have installed SRAM GX-Transmission on their Gen 3 turbo Levo's, were you able to install the 104BCD chain ring without removing your cranks or the spider? Thanks!

I've not fitted the Transmission chainring yet, but I've had fights with the Spider trying to remove my existing chainring and I've always lost - purchased a gear puller from Amazon for about £12 which I used for the first time yesterday, should of put a rag over the spider as with my faffage I scuffed the spider a little, but the spider came off shockingly easy with that. (there is also a tool to protect the motor from the puller pressure, but I'm fairly certain a socket from a socket set would do the job just as well)

Edit: GX Axs (Brose) arrived, easy enough to install - but indeed the DM chainring isn't really suitable, I'm sure it works but it's bodgery with the chain guide etc & looks it's noticeably wider than the 104BCD Spider - but the direct mount looks so much nicer I can't bring myself to have such a £££ drivetrain & keep using a budget/naff looking spider, so I weighed up my options & while I think the absolute best solution would be using a router to trim 2mm off the Chainring to provide the SRAM Standard 55mm chain line, but as I don't have a router at hand that project is on the back burner and I have ordered a Hope R22 Chainring to maintain the existing Specialized chain line of 52mm.

Note: I'm using the existing Praxis cranks, but I am planning on a set of 155mm Hope cranks in future.

I am still a bit puzzled, I can't find out which chainring will fit the Levo Gen3, the Brose Package includes a nice looking one, but states not suitable for Levo Gen 3. I am not too eager fitting the regular looking chainring with the existing spider. Furthermore, what's happening with the chain guard?

Cheers rocco
Admittedly I’m not familiar with Specialized detail, however if you haven't already looked I suggest looking on SRAM’s website for the various chainrings to match up with your motor. That’s where I found which one in direct mount version (with part# info) fit my Shimano motor on my Santa Cruz Bullit.

This is info on what Specialized is using on the T-Type model Levo, perhaps that crank ring is available through them?

Well, I fitted the T-Type Transmission using a 104bcd chain ring which worked fine.

But, I wanted the direct mount looks.
Currently using the Praxis cranks but I think I'll be getting Hope cranks soon.

Love the overall look, although up close I'm not too sure if I've done it right as there's now alot which lived inside the spider recess which is now 'exposed'

chain ring on < castle nut tightened < rubber washer (seal I think) < crank arm.

So mostly posting pics to confirm this is correctly installed?

Edit: found the destructions in chainring box, appears I fitted it properly 👌
