Has anyone put a 170mm fork on their Levo from the stock 150mm? I'm thinking about it and I'm wondering how much this changes the geometry and if this is a good thing...? Currently I have the Lyrik

I hope you know you will loose frame warranty if you go to 170, 160mm is max. allowed for this frame...

It's fine. A lot of Levo owners including myself have done it and the 2021that has the same frame comes with 160mm.
Just replace the air shaft. It's not expensive and you can go to the latest debon air version.

It's only a minor change,to geometry.
Front is higher not only because of the 10mm. With the 2011 debon air shaft it feels that the fork stays higher in the travel.

Hey Jet! Did you do it (the switch)? How did it feel?
Yes, I switched to the Fox 38 170, it's way better. Feels more stable and it helps with confidence on nasty terrain. I spent $800 on the new fork and I do not regret it. Geometry-wise I noticed zero difference, is there some? sure...but I can't tell.

Thanks for the update, Jet. I have a Trance so it's a bit different but I'm bumping up from 160 to 170mm (also changing my shock stroke so I'm close to 147mm of rear travel).

Hey, you're on MTBR too right? Where do you ride in the Bay?

I live E. Bay but I drive all over, I don't think it's a big deal to get in the car and explore new stuff. you?

I bumped up to the 160 Fox 38. Love the shock. Do feel like I need to be a little bit more deliberate with weighting up the front end on steep climbs given the slight increase in front end height.

E.Bay here as well!

E Bay too (Alameda).

JMP is my backyard but I don't like car break-ins so I just warm up laps at Gen Ed.

Then there's the good stuff on Pridge, just found out about Briones and China Camp, love UCSC and Pacifica.

I ran my Lyrik at 170 on my medium size SL, BB height went up a bunch (353 ish with 2.5 Maxxis front and rear) and the HA dropped to a tick over 65deg. Aside from the BB height I loved it.

going to drop it to 160 soon. BB height feels a little awkward on this bike for some reason. Also going with a 44offset fork grab me back those 2mm of wheelbase :)

I also fited a 170mm Lyrik select + on my 2019 size L base Levo but actually didn't have a chance to ride it. I'm assuming tho that not having the latest debonair it sits a little bit lower in it's travel on the bike's own weight so i think it's actually equal to a 160mm travel fork.

Adam? LOL!

Dude, there's two other guys in Alameda I ride with on E-bikes (they're on Decoys). We can start an e-bike club... I'll start designing the tattoo. =P
