Ok ur weight and how much psi . Front and rear. Pls no tech jargon .
If you post your weight and the manufacturer and model of suspension and bike, you may get something like a baseline to work with. Gary is right, without this basic info the numbers are useless in themselves. The video he posted is very good and easy to work through.I was just wondering what people where keeping there shocks at . The sticky just confuses me .. and those videos more so . A bit like the random numbers 10 4 6 7 8 10 . That's how much sense those videos make to me .
Good point , I usually set the sag and then tune with tokens to get the big hits just short or max ( bottom out never did me any harm ?) !I always try and make sure I set my front and rear so that on the maximum hits it is just a whisker from full stroke and then control my compression and rebound accordingly. Too many people run too much PSI to control bottoming out rather than their compression adjustment.
There absolutely not point buying a bike with 160mm of travel in the front, whacking too much PSI in there and only using 120mm of travel..!!!

I've run oversprung forks on many bikes from dirt jumpers to DH/slopestyle bikes.
But rather than send this beginner suspension thread off ony more of a tangent I'll let you go away and try to work out why.
