I really don’t know why… other than that jockey wheel can make some chain noise (narrow /wide), and I was following instructions.
I have the Trek Fuel exe 9.8 GX AXS and when i bought it I noticed that the wireless derailleur has a wire coming out of the back and going into the frame where the battery should go. I asked the guy in the shop what it was and he explained that trek thought it better this way because A. you don't need to charge a separate battery and B. the wireless SRAM derailleurs keep active when in motion so that when transporting, if you leave the battery in then it will quickly go flat but because Trek wired the power into the main power of the bike then the derailleur is only powered when the bike is switched on. So yeah, if you can do this then I say do it. I don't know where to get the adaptor from our how to wire it but if i find out I'll let you know because I think it's a great idea.Hello
I have upgraded my 21 Scott Stride eride with SRAM AXS electrically operated derailleur
I like the system (except controller paddle), but would like to upgrade it – replace the derailleurs battery with power supply from main ebike battery. SRAM has such option - the upper version of Scott Patron has these feature as a standard setup. The problem is that cannot find the part numbers of SRAM wire interface. The only what I have found
Patent Patrol: Is SRAM eTap wired on the horizon?
Is SRAM's eTap wired system on the horizon? It's possible, especially for the burgeoning population of e-bike riders.bikerumor.com
My Scott representative said that battery interface is a SRAM part (not Scott’s) and provided me the part number ( 00.3018.317.000.) but I cannot find it in the net, so either the part number is wrong or the system is so new.
Does anybody knows part number of the interface?
