Having watched the EWS E bike race this week I have decided that the lower power lighter "SL" bikes are probably not going to be any good for EWS-E racing. The lack of Torque would be a big disadvantage on the Power stages it seems.

I also did the Bosch challenge on my E8000 YT Decoy and would have been quicker on a few stages with an EP8 having extra torque.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

No fair few members do - but as you have concluded an SL is pretty much pointless up against the big guns.

There where a few people on Orbea Rises competing at pedal hounds this weekend though

I think for your more ‘normal’ UK enduro races (without weird uphill stages) then it would be less of an issue. I would certainly not discount one for racing.

However, I am going to do an EWS E or two next year as a different experience to a normal EWS, which would be pretty much impossible on a half fat bike IMO.
