I've just ordered a Whyte E-160 S in burnt orange this morning, my 1st e bike, excited is an understatement, hopefully collecting it this weekend!!
And all weekend you will be grinning from ear to ear. EnjoyI've just ordered a Whyte E-160 S in burnt orange this morning, my 1st e bike, excited is an understatement, hopefully collecting it this weekend!!
Amazing you've gone through 2 cassettes and 4 chains but only one rear tyre in 1800 miles! I have just change my rear on 700 miles with one chain change also (It snapped on Sunday!) and the cassette is still mint.1,800 epic, and utterly trouble free miles now on my Whyte, since April.
Just gets better and better.
Mods so far.
Charger 2.1 RCT damper
Debonair C1 upgrade and took it to 160mm
SRAM lock-on foam grips
Selle Italia SMP TRK saddle for my perineum and prostate
Cable re-route.
85Nm software upgrade.
Raceface Atlas stem
Worn through 2 cassettes, 4 chains, 2 sets of pads, one rear tyre and replaced the chainring for good measure.
40 miles across wet and windy moors on Saturday, and the lights are out ready for winter nights.

My mileage is going to drop, I have a Trek Procaliber XC hardtail on order to replace my 20 year old hardtail

hi to fit the 500 battery do you have to remove the bolt in downtube to the lower hole as i am thinking the same as a 500 might be easier to carry then the 625 .is battery classed as a vertical or horizontal cheersI bought a second battery in the 500 flavour as I eat the battery on a day in the peaks. On Sunday I was there and got 20 miles in a mix of eco/tour/emtb out of my 625wh (I weight 18st and I had a backpack on with spare battery and supplies also). Hence why I need another.
Yes and I only know that because of this forum, I thought I had lost a bolt but that’s what that second hole is for.hi to fit the 500 battery do you have to remove the bolt in downtube to the lower hole as i am thinking the same as a 500 might be easier to carry then the 625 .is battery classed as a vertical or horizontal cheers
I bought a plastic extender to bolt on to the end of the battery so I didnt have to mess about with moving bolts bit ride. I got it from a french supplier for Moustache bikes.hi to fit the 500 battery do you have to remove the bolt in downtube to the lower hole as i am thinking the same as a 500 might be easier to carry then the 625 .is battery classed as a vertical or horizontal cheers
I was up on top of lantern pike last night, not with a whyte though
Meh, walkers got access through breaking the rules as part of the kinder trespass, I'm just doing the same for bikes ?Cheeky footpath
Mate , are you tubeless with the pro core ?Oh go on then ?
Here’s my monster truck ?
Looking out toward Mam Tor - the ride that killed my rear wheel.

Halfway down Cut gate - my local and favourite trail. I’ve got the E-Kom for this trail, mostly thanks to the bike being a complete hooligan.

A few subtle changes to standard.
Hope carbon bars - I find these really take the sting out of Peak District rocks.
600lb spring - sag now at 20% and I appear to have cured pedal strikes ?
Hope fortus 30 wheels after killing original set in said Peak District loony descents. Also fitted procore to each end - I may now have the heaviest wheel/tyre combo known to man but it takes the abuse I give it at 90kg and 25psi. No point having a motor and saving weight on wheels on a bike like this ?
I ran a DD minion SS on the back for the beginning of lockdown “no gnar”, the assegai is back on now and looking like it needs replacing pretty soon.
No idea what I’ll replace this with. Maybe the new 160rs with a coil rear.
The bike is a beast, it can happily pootle around an 80km XC ride then the following day flat out down natural madness. It’s happiest encouraging me to go as fast as humanly possible down steep off piste stuff.
I’ve had the software update, first impressions are really good. Will be back out on it again tomorrow!
Still hoping to join in some rides with local folk ??? open offer to show anyone round some Peak routes if they need pointing in right direction.
do you carry it on the roof rack? you must be very strongThis is my new E160RS arriving home last week. first ride was midweek 19 miles in 1 1/2 hours. My face was sore from grinning all the way round.

Hang on in there, worth the wait! My 160 ended up being 6 weeks late. LBS mentioned a reduction in air freight availability, so fewer bikes are getting here than normal.this thread makes me sad. i got an email saying the supplier has a week delay on the order so it's likely i won't get my 160 rs until november. i'm just so desperate to get out on it already
hi Markwright1983 can you tell me which front mudguard you fitted? presume it is Zebb specific? Here’s my Whyte E-160 S.
Changed the WTB tyres after first ride. Next up is upgrading the forks to a Charger 2.1 damper and possibly 170mm air shaft.

Ah thanks. I know that RS machined threads onto the Zebb arch to take a specific fender, but from what I saw that was a short fender only. I was wondering if the one shown was also RS specific and if not, would it fit the bolt pattern on the arch?Looks like an rrp proguard
My LBS thought the bolt pattern looked the same as Fox, Ohlins, Marzocchi etc. If so, other bolt-ons would work in theory. I ordered the RS short fender on backorder, just shipped so will see how I get on with it. RRP do a bolt-on.Ah thanks. I'm finding the Verdicts pretty impressive TBH. Very wet, slippery ride on chalk last night. No issues at all (until I got off the bike and immediately slipped over ??)Don't chuck those crappy worthless WTB's in the skip
But the biggest dilemma (slightly sarcastically) i have is trying to find anything that will match the yellow on the e160-rs. Any ideas? I think i'll have to keep some of the stock bits until i can justifiably replace them. Long term i think a few purple hope bits will be finding their way onto the bike.
