Sintra, Portugal.
Hello everyone, I'm CaZé and I'm writing to you from Sintra - Portugal, a beautiful village with mountains full of great trails for cycling.

Recently my Shimano Steps E7000 motor with approximately 1400km stopped working, the bottom bracket rotates as if the chain was not connected and the error that appears is 010. This happened when pedaling normally in eco mode, after I felt a possible break in one component inside the engine, has this happened to anyone and does anyone know how to solve it? Thanks!!

E7000 has some internal plastic gears that break easily, if it is still in warranty then go to your shop. If out of warranty, you could buy an E8000 motor which is same dimensions and connectors and is easy to replace and has far better quality.

You can buy it second hand or also there is a polish guy in facebook that sells motors: Shimano Steps ep8, e7000, e8000 Used Motors

Yes, it is out of warranty, I will look at the options and make a decision, flying euros...

Thanks and good rides Spiff!!
Don’t buy an e8000 as the gears are the wrong size so that’s bad advice.

These guys are making gears for E7000 & E6100 so try them.

I told him to replace E7000 for E8000, not to canibalize its gears, which are not compatible. He can find good deals on E8000 and it has far better quality than a repaired E7000.
