Shimano EP801 power limit below 20% battery state of charge

Somewhere between 20-25% SOC I can start feeling that the power is reduced. Not exactly sure at what % but a bit before the mode controller goes from green to red (the E-Tube app isn't helpful either as it only shows 10% increments). At below 20% the power is severely reduced.

Is this specific to the Orbea RS motor tune or to all Shimano EP801s? I guess it is to safe-guard the battery but it feels very restrictive. It's pretty hilly where I am at the moment so I try to limit rides to 75% of the 630Wh battery to avoid the "turtle mode".

Any info on this would be appreciated 🙏

Of course at 20% battery or less the voltage / output of the battery is decreasing and therefore the max power output is decreasing
I notice mostly when climbing or doing long runs using high percentage of battery.

Sure - there is some reduction in voltage from the battery, but the big reduction in power I am seeing is like I'm changing from Boost to Eco and it happens at exactly 20% so this is done by software either by Shimano or Orbea.

Once the battery is at 20 % or less manufactures limit power output to basic eco so that the rider can still reach destination under limited power and still operate the lights some bike.

I think the red light is enough indication that I should consider preserving the battery to reach home, not be forced into eco. I've had 10+ ebikes, this is actually the first time I've been bothered by it. Could it be that the other manufacturers goes into limp-mode at a more sensible 5 or 10%? I've had all the major systems.

My E8000 in my old 2018 Focus Jam2 pro plus did the same thing. When the battery got older with 2 bars left it would cut out on me if I tried to climb a a fairly steep hill.
