Shimano 630W Battery Life Poll

There are my threads about the issue that recent versions of Shimano 504W batteries show a fast degradation that follows the same pattern in many cases:

• 90% Degradation at 10 cycles
• 88% Degradation at 20 cycles
• 85% Degradation at 30 cycles
• 82% Degradation at 40 cycles
• ...

Older batteries from 2018 are performing well, but newer versiones of the battery show this issue:

• BT-E8010 from 2018 use to perform well
• BT-E8010C from 2019 and newer are degrading fast

It may be that as new bikes use the newer 630W, Shimano is not selling too many of the 504W batteries and Shimano has decided not to spend technical resources fixing the issue in the older 504W battery, but they may have fixed it in newer 630W battery.

But there is no poll about the degradation of the newer 630W, so I would like to start it. Please post

• Battery Model with suffix letter (if you know it): ie BT-E8016E
• Number of Cycles
• Remaining Capacity (Battery Life)
• Motor and Motor FW Version (Newest EP8 FW 4.1.8 changes Battery life number reported by battery)
• Charger

This suggest that 20% degradation would give me 14380 km's of riding if the degradation is linear.

I have also 8035-L (504Wh, same dimensions as 8036, but ~550g lighter for short rides) but that is so new that I haven't riding with that battery.

This is from a friend's Canyon with Shimano EP800. I have to say that in my 3 ebike groups he and myself are the only ones with Shimano motors, the rest of up to 25 people have 3 Brose, 2 Giants with Yamaha motor and 18 Bosch. I believe that these issues and the way that Shimano is handling them are damaging his reputation and motor sales are far below Bosch. :

It shouldn't do. If you just read the information and don't change any of the settings it is very unlikely they can tell you have used the app.

I've had a successful warranty claim after changing and then setting back settings. Like everything there are no guarantees, but I would say you're pretty safe.

I read that Shimano may detect the use of TPM software if:
* You change a setting to a value that is not available in Shimano etube
* You derestrict the motor, and later restrict it again. But motot may keep log of high power usage not available in normal use.

If no settings are changed, it very unlikely that Shimano can detect the use of other SW
