@BeBiker If you take a look at the brake levers you can notice that they "add" a kind of metal piece to make the brake lever stiffer. Unfortunately, that reduce the range of positioning the display and because of the "curvy" shape of the bottom of the display it reduce once more that range. That's why It would be great if I could microwave the display as you suggested ?
Don't forget that because the lever is shorter than the original one, you have to move the bracket and that's why the display controls couldn't be at the ideal place on the handlebar.

What I learnt is that there are 2 major brake caliper mounting systems: PM and IS.
It's the orientation of the holes to fix the caliper.

Our bikes have the Rockshox fork, with PM at the front. (bolts parallel to the wheel, tangential)
The back is IS (bolts going towards the wheel, axial)

Now our Rockshox fork has a PM mount for 160mm disks.
That's why there's already an adapter (160 to 180mm) between the fork and the caliper to fit our 180mm disks.
The names used are often PM160, PM180, PM203, where PM without number stands for PM160.

To fit the 203mm disk, you can choose to fit a second adapter (PM180 to PM203)
or to replace the original (PM160 to PM180) by a new one (PM160 to PM203)

The result is this one: PM-PM-F/R203 (product name AP002 here)

The adapter isn't very much higher as the original one, but has a bolts hole offset that moves the caliper tangential.
Fits perfectly!
There are 2 bolts in the pack, but you need 2 extra M6 30mm bolts, our original ones are too long.

This is the disk. I chose Tektro because the original one has that name too, and works good.

That also came to my mind, but not a mullet, a 29"/2.2 tyre is the same height than the rear 27.5"/2.8 tyre.
Somebody wants to buy my front 27.5" wheel with the Ikon skinwall tyre ? :)

In my search at a good brand 11-50t (Shimano, Sunrace, VgSports ?) I got here:

And they have a nice table about cassette/derailleur compatibility:

The table says our Deore RD-M6000-GS is compatible with the 11-46t, but even with a hanger not with a 11-50t ?

I see, the brake lever touches the handlebar at 2 positions, makes it harder to find a good place for the HMI...

Exactly. That's why it would be nice to get the new display. The power controls allow you to put the display on the left side of the brake lever bracket

You don't want:
-Sunshine, Ztto, Zrace, Goldix, Racework, Wuzei, Viaron,...(Youtube)
-SunRace CSMS2 (metal star, heavy)
-VG sports (Youtube: good but heavy 546g)

Does not exist:
-Shimano Deore 11-50t
-Shimano M6000 11-46t
-SunRace CSMX3 11-51t

Unavailable:
-SunRace CSMS3 11-51t
-Shimano M4100 11-46t
-SunRace CSMX3 11-46t Black

So I went for the SunRace CSMX3 10s 11-46t Grey.
Aluminium star, Steel cogs s1-s9, Alu cog s10.

This guy makes the modifying adventure totally boring for me :)

Same SunRace cassette, same Deore derailleur with the same GS medium cage.

I've also a second wheelset for really muddy terrain :
not the lightest ones but very good Q/P.
203mm at 40€.
the last one in Belgium (La Louvière) and elsewhere at that time.
+/- 210€ without tyres with good quality components

Here you see the Sunrace 11-46t instead of the original Deore HG500 11-42t
I just had to adjust the B-Screw (Body angle screw)
No derailleur hanger needed !

I tried a 44T chainring on mine, instead of the 38T I’ve got fitted.

Obviously had to remove the ‘chain guide’. But as the derailleur has a clutch I thought it not a problem .

Done approx 300 miles and notice the difference in speed. Its increased to approx 25mph.

However, that’s just a bit too fast for my liking, so I’ll revert back to the 38T soon.

Great ! What's the feeling compared to the original setup (38t) ?
Well, the 11-46t gearing spread is a lot better compared to the 11-42t.
On an E-bike, I would have been happy with a 8-gear.
So I won't use the 11t a lot anymore.
Maybe a 40t or a 11-50t would be ideal, I feel the shortest gear is somewhat too long.

I need a kickstand, but Decathlon forgot to weld a support for that.
So I ordered and "oval mount" Aliexpress Kickstand.

It isn't the right "kind" of oval. You see a plastic insert between kickstand and frame.
I grinded away some aluminium from the kickstand, the plastic will deform so it fits better without damaging the bike frame.

Mine has a (similar) kickstand also, bought it used, already with it.

What a strange noise my front wheel makes !
When braking softly, there is no noise. When releasing the brake it is back, and loud !

After some investigation it looks like my front wheel bearings are totally worn, left-right play about 3mm !
Also one side of the front brake is somewhat stuck.

As usual at Decathlon "no stock" for the bearings. (18307-2RS 18x30x7)
So I ordered them somewhere online.

But I already wanted a 29" wheel for a while, so bought their 30mm Sun Ringle Duroc.
Btw the bearings inside these are different. ( iirc 20x32x7)

Immediately drilled up the wheel for Schrader Tubeless.
About Skinwall tyres at Decathlon: "No stock"

For the tyres at the front, we went from the original 27x2.8 Hutchingsons to 27x2.8 Maxxis Rekon, to 27x2.20 Maxxis Ikon, now to 29x2.20 Maxxis Ikon.

But what happened to the definition of Skinwall ?
Never saw something ugly as the new 2021 series of Maxxis Skinwall, looks more like shiny orange, and in reality it's even worse than on the picture.
It looks like Schwalbe went the same road (same factory, same shareholders ?), but this tyre is immediately being sent back !

What's happening here? Bad wheel, bed weld, production error, bad series ?

Went back to Decathlon, they said the wheels are not welded at this spot, because they are double wall.
There is no concern about breaking the wheel, they are all like that.

The only issue is the Tubeless tape leaking somewhat initially, and it should automaticly be resolved after a while.
When not getting better, replacing the tape could solve it. (As usual, no tape in stock)

After contact with the online tyre seller, I could return the ugly Maxxis Ikon.
So I immediately ordered an alternative in their shop: Vittoria Mezcal size 29x2.25 (also available in 2.35)
---edit--- both "not available" at the moment. Maybe I got the last one.

Those Vittorias look even better than the stock pictures, who displayed a big white-on-black text and logo.

Who spots the profile difference between both ?

The braking problem seems resolved after an iteration of moving (forcing) the left/right brake pistons to their side.
Will the problem come back ? How to resolve it ? How to prevent it ? Do I have to replace the brake caliper ?

To avoid the Lever positioning Gary has:

I am looking if our levers our compatible with both 2- and 4-piston calipers.

This youtuber talks about his new XT 8100, and at 1:04 he shows the box that indicates the XT levers are compatible with the corresponding XT 8100 2-piston and XT8120 4-piston calipers.
And at 2:42 he shows that Deore 6100 levers are compatible with the corresponding Deore 6100 2-piston and Deore 6120 4-piston calipers

Could our "Rockrider Tektro TKD32" levers fit the Deore 6120 4-piston calipers ?
