Recently installed a LIFT-MTB system to our Ventana tandem. It really helps getting my son with down syndrome up the hill around Carson City, NV.

Great smile! We had a trailgator for towing the daughters bike. Each time I looked around as I struggled up a hill instead of peddling she'd have her feet up on the handlebars smiling back at me. Good times!

That’s brilliant Kary but you need to get your lad on a bike of his own. My son is 23 and has DS. He’s got a Trek PF7 small with 27.5” wheels, it’s really tiny compared to my XL. He hates the thing but once on it he’ll go for miles. We regularly ride 20+ miles on canal tie paths etc. He’s had some spills but nothing serious.

We abandoned this a couple of years ago. It was a bit finicky and the assist was more of an on/off feeling, not very natural. We went to an actual e-tandem built for us by Cycles Chinook out of New Hampshire. This bike is awesome. It uses a Bosch motor with twin batteries. This picture is from our 5 day tour through the Black Hills this summer on the Mickelson trail.

Thanks for the info. Wow that Chinook tandem looks really nice. I went to Cycles Chinook website and it looks like it would be a bit more than I want to spend. Do you still have the Ventana?

I do still have the Ventana without the Lift set up. Yes, The Chinook was an investment for me and my son.
