Had first proper ride across Cannock chase today, I’m defo sold on ebike ! Quickly got used to the weight as well . Disappointed however , the gears are not well indexed , will need looking at . And something rattles , not pin pointed it yet . And personal thing but not enough travel on the dropper post and I find the front end a bit low

The Front end was low for me aswell iv stuck sum 50mm rise bars on straight after the first ride, feels quite a bit better for me now.Not sure on the rattle mines pretty quite for an ebike it's a lot more quite than the bosch motor equipped bikes iv got and had they do rattle on the downs.

Anyone know how to tell when the battery is fully charged? Do you go by the battery indicator (the X Interface) or does the red PSU LED light go out/change colour or something?

Off the top of my head am pretty sure the charger light goes out when the battery is fully charged thats when charging the battery out of the bike. Not sure about when charging in the bike as I have never done it.

That was what I thought. But today, charging for the first time from half full and after 5 hours the LED was still on. Since I posted I took the battery out and the LED on the battery itself shows all four lit, so fully charged. Very weird!

It was in the descents only . Will do a bolt check and make sure everything is tight , could just be normal . I think I’ll go 38mm to 50mm rise to try it , was fine on descents but not comfortable just pedalling along , felt way too much weight on my hands

It was the first link that came up on google, High on bikes, its the first time I have ever used them it Arrived in about 2 days
My mistake, for some reason I thought you had found an adaptor for the version one guard, which is what I have , turns out this cannot be fitted or adapted to fit , so will have to buy new

Anyone fitted the DMR V11 Pedals? Bought some, but seem to be incorrect fitting 🤷🏻‍♂️ Tried both L/R on either side just in case.

At first thought it was me forgetting the old pedal specific thread etc. but definitely won't fit.

Have you got any others to try? Maybe thread on crank is damaged. ? All pedals are a standard thread size
The ones that came with the bike fit perfectly. Damn weird! I'm going to take another look tomorrow. Really hoping I just had an off day 🙈🤣🤞

How is everyone finding the bikes? I had a few minor issues, mostly around loose bolts and crank coming a little loose , otherwise loving it . Never rode an ebike before, and from asking various people it seems they are a bit noisy, as in cable noise, motor noise etc. but addicted to it . And it may prove very costly to me personally as my youngest son is itching for one as well

After I received mine and dropped it off to a mate who runs a local bike shop. She set it up, tightened everything up (he said there were way too many loose bolts) and set up the suspension. Since then I have put some DMR V11 pedals which I LOVE! Also added an auto brake light, a Sigma EOX V1300 and a battery / tube cover. The bike has been solid. Loving it! My mate was very impressed with the kit for the price.

I have the Speedbox 3.1B to fit but not got round to it yet.

Yeah, I think they were a bit too rushed with so much demand and so many bikes to set up and get out the door. Mine had plenty of incorrectly torqued bolts and the gears are not indexed well at all . But there you go, I’m gonna spend a couple hours tomorrow checking everything over . Could be swearing involved !😂

Hi All.
E bike newbie here.
I just took delivery of my first bike. Got one of the Pauls Cycles deals. The last in stock i think !
I'm just charging it and connecting etc.
As others have said, the E sync app leaves a lot to be desired.
Are there any decent apps that I should be getting, and a phone mount, or should I be looking at a Garmin?
Strava looks good, could get 3 years subscription for the price of a Garmin.
Any advice for must have spares to take out with me ?
I'll only be doing light trails, country and roads

All the best
Paul

Grab a Sigma EOX V1300. You can get them from BikeInn for around £70 ish. Then download the Sigma EOX app. Connect device to bike and phone to device. It fully integrates to the Yamaha Interface X. You'll not only see normal stats but can control power etc. So so so much better!

Personally, I'd replace the OEM pedals for something like the DMR V11s or similar and also go tubeless. Personal preference mind you.

Thanks for the reply.
Excuse my ignorance. But what's involved in going tubeless? Are the tyres just sealed to rims and a new valve fitted ?
What's the benefit. Less likely to puncture?

Yeah, tubeless tape and sealant. Tubeless benefits really are that there's no issue with tube nip or usually any minor punctures. The only punctures you'd be dealing with are where there's a major tear. If/when you get something open up a tubeless tyre the sealant (which is still a liquid) fills the hole. Most of the time you'll not even realise you've had a puncture.

Hi guys,

Has anyone already replaced the headset bearings? I noticed that there are ordinary Caged Headset Bearings sitting there. I would like to replace them with some better sealing. Anything you guys recommend?

So Speedlite vs Volspeed derestrictor? I can see the following things for sale:

SPEEDBOX 3.1 compatible with Yamaha PW-X3 + PW-S2 Motor/E-Bike Kit/Premium Tuning Chip/Speed unlimited = £165

Speedbox 3.3 for Yamaha PW-X3 / PW-S2 eBike Tuning Kit = £179.00

SpeedBox 3.3 Compatible with Yamaha Motors PW-X3, PW-S2, YDX-Moro/E-bike Tuning Chip with Bluetooth/SpeedBox App = £257

VOLspeed V3 eBike Tuning Kit for Yamaha PW-X3 / PW-S2 = £155.00 - £159.00

The Volspeed seems to not be able to turn the speed limit off entirely. i.e. You have to have a max speed of say 28mph as far as I can see? I've also seen that on some of them (think this might be a Bosch thing though) you have to wait several minutes for it to turn off and time out so the motor doesn't go into a brick mode or something?

I think the Speedbox ones are always on? Volspeed seem to have a feature where they are always off (for safety, minimize chances of detection? And you have to turn them on each time?)
Speedbox seem to be able to have the limiter turned completely off so they are truly derestricted?
What is the significance of paying more for the Speedbox one that is compatible with the speedbox app? Nearly an extra £100 just so you can use an app to adjust it?
I'm thinking my usage will more be, install, completely derestrict it. Forget about it forever. Are we ever likely to need to update firmware of the Yamaha PW-X3 motor which would render either of the derestrictor devices bricked?

Hi whizzing the speedbox 3.3 is a replacement can be switched off so not detected ie with light switch or up and down button ,you can ride as normal or switch it on .
