I did a test install on the driveway first, before mounting the rack on the glass roof. I also leave the thru-axel on the roof beside where I need to install it.

I've also installed the mounts so if I miss the mounts, the fork lands on the suction caps metal top bracket. I actually drilled new holes to ensure this happens. The bracket is pretty wide. And this has worked as well.

You can see in the photo below, I've placed the rear wheel mount low on the tailgate. So I lift the rear wheel on, then pivot the forks into the mount. I also remove the battery, so with the wheel off as well, it's about 5kg lighter. So probably only about 19kgs.

It's surprisingly easy to get
I will take your word on that .

Perhaps it is easier because you are down under! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have been loading loads of windsurfing boards and bikes in/on cars and vans and can not imagine how this is working without arms like a crane boom.๐Ÿ˜€ Please share a video how this is handled. ๐Ÿค”
I think he's a crane or forklift driver ๐Ÿค”

I got some new adapters and wanted to try them. The old ones were a bit tight.

As you could see. Perfect fit now. I think that was my all time record. 23 seconds to load. :ROFLMAO:
Respect! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ But I still believe it must have to do with you being down under - like your water whirlpool in the drain is rotating clockwise and not counter clockwise as in our hemisphere. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ™‚

It's worse than that, the nights started drawing around the 12 June!
We're getting a week of half decent weather by the looks of it up my way. Put tent up today give it an airing for a few days. Maybe manage a sneaky night away in the van as well.
Edit Just tried putting tent up , abandoned midges bitten to bits on arms and face. That's East coast too

A little 14 miler (approx ..as the mapping app turned itself off ) ..didn't want to do too much as there is a biggish ride planned for tomorrow with @The EMF ..if his shoulder injury is up to it from his "off" in N.Yorks yesterday ..
The Sidwood area of Kielder Forest is where I started my ride on a trail which has been closed since storm Arwen. The Bastle Trail ..and still is closed although someone local is still walking it and while designated as a walking trail I've been riding it for nigh on 30 years ( so drop my pants and spank me pink ) .. God knows why it should remain closed as it wouldn't take too much work ( Forestry England ) to get it back to its former self ..having said that the grass is getting high in places.
The rest of the ride had me on forest tracks in the main in good condition ..but some overgrown with seedling trees making them more like singletrack, ..byeways ( open to all vehicles ..and in a right mess) and singletrack tarmac roads in a rough state of disrepair..and all the better for it on an ebike ..
Fantastic weather for a change ๐Ÿ‘Œ

An overgrown forest doubletrack ..with Kielder Water showing at the very top of the pic..

Slaty Ford as slippery as a slippy thing ..minced my way over!
This is also where the mapping app switched off but it doesn't take much working out as to how I got back to the start..

Had a good dry one today 32 miles . Local to me
at Moray Monster Trails . Trying to think when this first opened ๐Ÿค” between 15 and twenty years I'm thinking. Still in good nick so Forestry must be doing something though I've never seen anyone working on them . Nothing scary but if you go fast enough it can catch you out , broken back now paralised , thumb pinned , two broken wrists on Xmas eve just a few of the injuries that I know .Repair or replace shimano boots ?
