Mouth of the Spey from both sides . Lovely day but very cold but I have a cold so probably feeling just me feeling leepit. Can anyone Botanists identify the plant growing through the whins. A woman was picking them and said they were Sloe Berries but they are not . Could they be Blackthorn I picked some but still unsure what they are. There was no foliage on them when I picked them late September. All info I find on identify them have foliage on them

Struggled uphill to do a nice quick downhill before the rain came in again, from The Trundle to West Dean (UK, West Sussex). Just got going then went around a corner and ... oops ... stopped a bit quick!

Several trees still with foliage (because haven't had a frost yet) with waterlogged roots, blown down by recent gales. No way round these, had to lift my Rail over them. Fook :-(

This is looking back.

Edit: Replaced Hi-Res with Lo-Res pic.

the ends look like rose hips, bigger fruit than what we would see in western Canada, we make rose hip jelly from ours and rose hip tea but a lot of work for what you get
Yes you could be right. I will be looking at the plants in spring and summer to see the leafs etc. Seen a recipe for rosehip gin . I would need to buy jars for making it and probably 2ltrs gin just want to make sure before I poison myself.

Tequipas trail in the Santa Ynez Valley Mountains of CA USA. 180 deg view at the peak, looking to the right is Cachuma Lake, to the left, the Pacific Ocean overlooking Santa Barbara. Its a short 8mi loop, 2300ft up If you are fast, 13min or less down. Rode with my 2 analog bikers so had a chance for some pics.

Loads of great random pictures of folks bikes leant on stuff or just great scenery.

Is there a place for "Picture of the Day"
Can be your e-bike or the great terrain you have ridden.
Only stipulation, it has to be recent.

Might not be everyones cup of tea, but I love the places I ride.

Can I kick off with this evenings "daily exercise" run in beautiful Bilsdale, North Yorkshire,UK View attachment 28181

Apologies if this has been done before and died.

Edit: Oh and can we keep it to pictures (preferably one or two), and not degenerate into chat about what mudgaurd / tyre/ cable end , or whatever?

Great photo but something doesnā€™t add up! How did you get your bike to a location like that in the Lake District without a single splash of mud or sprinkling of dust? Even the tyres look brand new!

You know I was thinking the same myself but I came along the road then I was over the grass but yeah I see what you mean and it does get used
