Loving those snow capped peaks in the distance ...
Yah, apparently the snow peaks are nice. More and bigger signage is needed though šŸ™„. (Unbelievable).
These view-blocking structures are easy to read and new this year.

Hereā€™s a picture of Burke Mountian in the distance. The snow stripe cut is for the power lines. I live on the left and ride on the right of the cut.

Gosh! Another fine day out on trails that had everything - snow, ice, mud and a lot of very cold water.

Very cold and very sunny pootle which also proved I was a bit premature in removing my mud guard. And shorts werenā€™t a good idea either.

Still, it was a grand day out during which I broke the 500 miles point on the Rise and I have to say Ive thoroughly enjoyed them all.

As per tradition, I stopped for a coffee and bun on my way home. Bliss.

A lot of folk live to see your scrumptious cycling food , the bike pics are just a bonus. You need a ugly Mudhugger on that bike .

So if I've got this right ..its a waterfowl conservation area" Ducks Unlimited" have contributed ..underwritten by Coors " one of a kind " shotgun programme ..so basically they can live protected on that site ..to be blasted out of the sky at a later date when they move on ..? šŸ˜‚
I find that a little ironic ..or am I completely wrong ?
By the way has Yogi left a deposit on the road ..šŸ˜
Yogi deposit!
hereā€™s one and a couple pictures of the culprits we often encounter around here. Nothing to worry about they seem to have a preference for joggers and hikers.

Fantastic winter ride in the Tweed Valley with @The EMF & @Richywalker64 ..
Apparently when I did a weather check last night with a relative of the missus who happens to live in Innerleithen ..asking specifically about the amount of snow on the hills ..it was mostly gone although there had been a lot there that morning ..
Oh yeah ..must be snowblind as the main ground condition was snow & ice ...grrr!
Anyway it didn't seem to deter my two mates who were on fire ..recording speeds in excess of 30mph on the downs ..
My fun however was curtailed by the conditions and taking too much notice of the very local weather report ..no fault but my own ..
So ..note to self : When you have gone to the trouble of buying a brand new tyre for the rear and have had plenty of time to fit it over the last few days ..don't be a lazy fuckin arsehole and risk one more ride on a nearly bald one while the new one is keeping warm indoors and then wonder why you're riding like a novice šŸ˜”
That apart still really enjoyed the day ..

These guys leave plenty behind them as well . More friendly than a bear though.

Yikes, I donā€™t like the look of their horns. They look tame but i wouldnā€™t try to cross that bridge at the same time.

along the same theme, hereā€™s who we often encounter road biking in the spring. Fortunately they are usually uninterested.

Yes I waited a while for the coos to cross the bridge. They are placid creatures but if they tweet them horns a metre wide stand aside.

Very keen.šŸ˜€
you would have loved it Phil ,
very little wind and not that coldā€¦..it would have been worth the drive to see @The Hodge trying to ride steep downs on only what could be described as a semi slick back tyreā€¦.but fair play to him he managed
