Enroute to Knoydart had a 7 am blast round Laggan Wolftrax all changed since I was last there ? how did I miss Ayres rock ? . Had a jaunt up Loch Morar to Tarbert track i need to go back as ì was catching a ferry so time was limited. Slummed it on Analogue hill bike from Inverie to the bottom of the hill but saved me 8 miles of walking . View attachment 89618

Took advantage of the weather on Saturday and ventured out to Llandegla again on the basis Gisburn would have been very wet.

Dry routes so did two laps, 27 miles, 3500ft and 1900kCals, Blacks and Reds each lap...

Dropping into the relatively new Dave the Fox section with the rather large tree stumps that appear to have been harvested about 4 feet up the trunk...

First Black section starts here, called Snowden View, so I turned around and it was a bit hazy but I think Snowden was just out of shot on the right.

Again battery did well, about 50% main battery left after first lap of 14 miles. Stuck the extender on for 2nd lap as tend to get tired and wanted to Trail-mode it round. (Not much faster, just slightly less effort).

Hostage to fortune though, running a cafe in Fryupdale. Anything less & Trip advisor would be lit up like a Christmas tree.

Unfortunately the name isn’t derived from the breakfast of Kings, but some old Norse Goddess:

The curious name Fryup probably derives from the Old English reconstruction *Frige-hop: Frige was an Anglo-Saxon goddess equated with the Old Norse Frigg; hop denoted a small valley

Did you climb up Chimney Bank to get there ? You might like Yorkshire Cycle Hub, a great cafe and bike shop in Fryupdale. They’ll be able to advise of loads of routes in that area and around Danby Beacon area too

No... I was going from Lastingham to Blakey ridge

No...I did not ...I was coming from Lastingham and going to the Lion Inn. I will definitely try the Yorkshire Cycle Hub. Thanks for the tip!
