At it again, this weather is too good to waste.

Something different from my usual Desert pics. Headed up (literally) to a ways north of Silver City, NM, USA for a race in the Gila National Forest.

Well, the race was canceled due to unsafe conditions. The trails have become streams of late and the organizers called it. So, instead of a race it was more of a rally. And rather than trails, we rode the fire road.

609 m up over 9 km (2000’ over 6 miles). And I do mean UP. It was the longest sustained climb I’ve ever done. Lots of 10% and 12% grades made it work, even on the Trek Powerfly.

It was so tough I did it again the second day.

Still injured, so just searching for and riding the ploddy trails in the area. It's actually quite pleasant.

Now that the Kenevo actually works properly (fixed itself after 2 years) it makes an excellent gravel bike :) 600k & 12,500m in the last week of rehab/insanity avoidance rides - lots more trails to find than I thought in the area.

We’ve been riding the ploddy trails too the last few weeks whilst my wrist is still recovering and I agree, they’re actually quite pleasant. Sometimes it’s just nice to simply ride the bike and take in all your surroundings & explore your local area

No bikes this week as I'm on a rather large ship...

Great weather too.

Irish Sea unbelievably flat calm yesterday.

Where ever
Never been there… this feature looks like it would suck you in big time - literally ?
You come across this part all of a sudden, the first time I stopped at the top to check it out, the photo makes it look small buts a nice drop, now I know what to expect so can carry on regardless. There are lots of small drops to try and catch you out on the False teeth section but it’s such a good trail. (y)

U.K.
I came off near there once. Got a nice 'cookie cutter' in the stomach from my bars.
Exactly ? Still, it also looks like it‘s a good long send with pace, just so long as you’re ready for that compression—>pop at the bottom with the little puddle ?
