When I was but a wee lad, I enjoyed reading books about the bogmen of the moors, and I've been fascinated ever since. If you run across one of these bog blokes, try to get a picture of him posing on your bike.

I’ve never met a bogman, but in local folklore a boggle is a Yorkshire term for a Hobgoblin, so I’ll keep my eye out for you in case we cross paths

(When I was a wee lad I was fascinated by the movie ‘American Werewolf in London’ - the American guy was attacked by a werewolf on the Yorkshire Moors. I still keep looking over my shoulder for the werewolf ?)

you rode into a stage of the next episode of ‘walking dead’?
Hmmmm dont think ive seen that.
My walker was dead. Never experienced that before. New secret zone in the middle of nowhere. First rock slab drop in got quite steep down into a chute between 2 trees into blown out catch berm with the trail sign ("22 stitches") hanging overhead between the trees. Trail name made complete sense and i was super tense. Nearing the end of the slab i dropped into the chute to the berm and was so tense i got a major cramp in my leg. Thought my quad detached it was so painful right at the crux. Made the berm and rolled to a stop and took a few minutes to massage out fkn hurt. All in my mind. Should of just relaxed. Traction was pretty good. That was wierd. Stretched a ton before the ride

Let me spin a small yarn...

On Saturday, my wife and I decided to go up to Gisburn Forest for a ride - she would do the Blue and me the Reds (The Eight circuit). Well Bank Holiday traffic meant the motorway was at a standstill so we went across country and saw some lovely parts of rural Lancashire but got to Gisburn OK, if a little longer than anticipated.

My wife says, I've not had much breakfast, lets have the sandwiches now. She packed some for the end of our ride before we set off.

OK, we unload the bikes, go and sit at a picnic table and start on our wholemeal wraps.

I take a bite and my front bridge work (already coming loose) came out completely. So now I have two of my front teeth missing! I turn to show her and there was a little blood. She faints, falls sideways, bangs her head off her bike and knocks herself unconscious!

I'm trying to get her to come round, which she eventually does, not knowing where she is or what happened.o_O

Manage to get her and the bikes back to the car and go back home...

So lost a day's biking and have no front teeth! :(

Not all lost as the Red Arrows came over on their way back to Scampston from their show at the Isle of Man.

Went back on Sunday and did Gisburn on my own. Wife still a bit woozy...

Check out the Footage thread for a small excerpt with an innocuous OTB at the end (less than 2 mins)...

I’m not sure whether I should be laughing at your story or sympathising ?
