Ancient Warwickshire woods shortly to be bulldozed to make way for a pointless £100 billion high speed railway.

Probably because it's used all it's airframe hours and they're worried it would shake itself to bits.

Furness, South Cumbria.
South end of Walney Island looking over Walney Channel towards Barrow-in-Furness.
The large white buildings behind the bike are the indoor submarine building sheds at BAE Systems.
The buildings and green crane on the far right are at the nuclear fuel shipping terminal, originally built to supply Sellafield nuclear reprocessing plant.
The hills of the southern Lake District in the background.
My ride yesterday was a round trip from the hill in the background, just above the back edge of the rear tyre (15 mile round trip).

Same ride, a mile down the road, looking across Walney Channel to Roa Island on the left (with the R.L.N.I. lifeboat station on stilts over the channel), and Piel Island (with Piel Castle) on the right.
