Well, Steve Sordy. At least, after the ‘improvements’ to your local green lane thingy, you will still be able to ride along it . This is what is happening to a local greenway [ disused railway line] near me . Being totally destroyed to make way for a £1 billion +++ useless railway line that no-one will use when it is finished.[HS2] . Although not massively exciting, it did provide a bit of fun as part of a sloppy winter ride as well as being well used by the local folks. The embankment on the right hand side is all that is left of it and that will probably vanish soon?

Edit….typing error. It’s not a £1billion useless railway. It’s a £100billion useless railway. That’s £100,000,000,000. Ridiculous…. You could get 7 or 8 top of the range Levo’s for that.

The ride into Spooky Woods at GT. It looked spookier in real life. Honest.

Another blast last night after work. Making use of the break in our glorious summer weather! ?

Did the route around Belmont, Cartridge Hill (reverse direction) and up across Darwen Moors (very wet and boggy!). Tried looking for a new route as trails shown on OS map but they just petered out. :( Click on pics for bigger versions.

Nice sunset, air was clear after all the rain and could see all the way to Lake District quite clearly...
