Never hurts to occasionally use contact cleaner on battery connections especially low voltage scenarios and face to face contacts rather than male female pins. Metal contacts subject to current transfer suffer oxidisation and that is what contact cleaner is designed to both remove and inhibit.I'll give you some news.
I bought a stock of Energiser batteries. Before installing the battery, I put a little contact cleaner on the battery location.
I've had enough time to tell you if this solves the problem, but according to the SRAM application, the battery is still usable for more than 6 months.
