I tried to gather information about Rise power abilities.
What have I figured out…
360 Wh battery that contain 10S2P setup of 2170 cells. 2 stacks of ten cells in series connection joined together in parallel.
Cell manufacturer Samsung SDI or LG perhaps? SDI cell INR21700-50G, 4850mAh (very close to 360Wh. They are rated to continuous output of 9.7A. Nominal voltage 3.7V
Nominal
(10 x 3.7V) X. (2 x 9.7A) = 718 Watt
Lowest point (discharge cut off)
(10 x 2.5V) X. (2 x 9.7A) = 485 Watt
Highest point (charge cut off)
(10 x 4.2V) X. (2 x 9.7A) = 815 Watt
Consider 100 watt losses? To run the EP8 in full power the cell voltage would need to be 3.1V. I guess this is achievable With the 360Wh battery.
EP8 RS (according to STunlocker)
BOOST 350 Watt
TRAIL 250 Watt
ECO 150 Watt
EP8 (according to STunlocker)
BOOST 500 Watt
TRAIL 500 Watt
ECO 500 Watt
I think Orbeas choice to have 350 W as maximum figures is to have a balance between range and power. Also the “range extender” can probably not output equal amount of wattage.
There are rumor that Rise can not put out full 85 Nm and 500 W from the 360Wh battery. I’ve seen videos where the tester increased the output to 85Nm and belived somwhere around 70-75 Nm was achievable. Makes me wonder if they also increased the power to 500 Watt? As this is a separate setting in BMS. This can be done in STunlocker.
Anyone that have compared a Stunlocked EP8RS set to 500 watt/85 Nm and compared to a eMTB with EP8?
