Orbea Rise Large maximum insertion (bought a 240mm dropper)

So I have very very long legs for my height (6'1). I love to have the bike seat slammed to the frame when fully dropped as it makes the bike so much more manueverable. But then I have too much leg angle bend.

Anyway I'm pretty sure my stock Large M20 came with the 150mm dropper post. Not being much of a mechanic myself (yet) I just ordered the largest one I could find which was the Oneup V2 dropper at 240mm. More is always better right?

Anyway the thing is likely way too long and I'm wondering what the actual maximum insertion depth I can run on my large frame? I'd like at least 200mm ideally. The way I have the 150mm dropper setup I have like 3.5 inches of post above the insertion point.

Thanks!

The drawings and dimensions on page 38-39 of the technical manual (Blue Paper) might help you figure that out.

The seat tube on the Rise is longer than most, reducing the overall dropper travel required. I bet a 200mm dropper is probably what you need, regardless of what you can get away with from an insertion depth perspective.

For comparison, I have an XL Transition Sentinel with a 210mm dropper and about an inch of seatpost extension but on my XL Rise I’m using a 200mm dropper that is totally slammed and shimmed down to 185mm because the seat would otherwise be too high for pedaling.

I now got a fox transfer 175 mm travel sestpost on my large rise. No issue to insert it to the maximum into the seat tube. Got a bikeyoke revive 185 mm travel on order, on paper it should fit as well

I have a 200mm in my M20 I have to leave about 15-20mm from slammed due to power button

I got a bikeyoke revive 185 and it fits my M10 L, full insertion is perfect fit for me, hence getting max possible travel. I have put same dropper but in 165 travel on my wife’s M10 M and it fits also with full insertion.

Looking at the Rise's max insertion table...

And then looking at the One Up page for the v2.1 (below), the 210mm version should fit fully in the seat tube on a large, and the 240mm should fit fully in an XL frame.

Of course, you'll actually need legs long enough for whichever post you choose too (although the oneup can be shimmed down up to 20mm from the nominal drop). They've got a really handy tool for checking which of their posts should fit here OneUp Dropper Post Length Selector

As far as I can tell from a bit of googling, for a given drop, the One Up still requires the least insertion depth and also has the lowest stack height, so it should give the most drop for a given amount of space?

(It's an absolute miracle I got through that without saying something smutty!)
