Looks like you are going with a lighter build with your fork options? Can you tell me, or post a link for the correct crown race that's needed for this bike/ fork? Thank You.

Yeah going with a bit lighter build on this one to mimic the spec of my regular trail bike as close as I can. Im only about 160lb so the lighter parts should be fine.

As for the the crown race, I just use a standard crown race. As far as I know, all the factory builds from Orbea use the same, whether it be the 140mm Ltd models, 140mm m20, 150mm m10… But yeah possible to run raised base plate to retain HTA/stack height if running a lower travel fork.

IMO, can’t really go wrong with setup of these bikes. Pick your flavor and be happy. Ive tried; Zeb 160/150, fox 36 150/160, pike 140, fox 34 140, paired with Dps, dpx2, push coil… A-C for these forks given the travel numbers are close, so should also be close to Orbea published HTA.

The beefier builds definitely felt more solid, more point and shoot, plow like. But I do prefer the lighter build- sharp and active, more focused, lower travel pop, and more inline with my regular bike making the transition almost nil, when going back and forth.

@Bigkatoomer Did you mean 203mm, or 220mm? I did not think Hope made a 230mm rotor. I also think the rear is fine and just went up to a 203mm rotor in the front (I went with a Galfer floater) on the stock 4 pot XTR caliper with the XTR (SM-MA90-F203 P/PM) adapter. Works well, looks stock.

Had to change the dropper post because the Orbea one was too high. I put in a One Up 180, but shimmed down to 160.

So far I've ridden it twice. It's so amazing!

My dropper is too high as well - was it an easy swap to the One-up ?

Oh yes, very easy. Just had to swap the actual dropper. Just undid the collar, then removed the left side grip, brake, and power control, then fed the wires into the frame as I pulled up on the dropper. Once the bottom of the dropper was free of the frame, I unhooked the cable from the bottom actuator on the dropper post. Then just put the OneUp one in there.

Unfortunately the 180 mm shimmed down to 160 is also just a wee bit too high for me too. So I now have to buy a 150 mm OneUp dropper and sell the 180 mm one.

My XL M10 came with a 170 mm dropper, but it was too high for me. I now have a 150 mm and it's perfect. I'm 6 ft.

I'm thinking of getting a Rise to replace my Jam2, has anyone changed from an E8000 bike to the Rise? Is there an obvious difference in power, climbing ability etc?

There is a slight but noticeable difference - going back to my E8000 Lapierre it feels too overpowered now in the high modes, and yet it feels so sluggish and heavy to ride ... I much prefer the power delivery on the Rise.

I'm still feeling when going up hill that Boost on the Rise is roughly equivalent to high Trail on the E8000. And Profile 1 Trail on the Rise (so the low power Trail) is similar to Eco on the E8000. But I'm finding I hardly ever use Boost on the Rise now, unless I'm knackered and going up something steep and want to take it easy.

I’m 6’ with about the max inseam you can have for my height (35”) and the 150 dropper I used for 1 ride didn’t look stupid. I went with a Oneup 180mm, and could have went with the 210mm, but the 180 is plenty out of the way for my long legs. On the 180, I have 42mm of post out of the ST.

Went out today using the lightweight wheel set dhf (ltd edition don’t ask!) / dhr2 and it was fab, very predictable and compliant!

I was lacking abit of confidence at Wharncliffe since trying to ride stainburn the other day with some techy droppy rocky gardeny crappy stuff whilst sleep deprived (and had offs) so I bypassed more features than I should have done although I took on a trail I normally can’t do fully and smashed through it all so chuffed to bits!

Suspension was great, felt like it was gliding through stuff, tyres felt decent although the conditions were perfect.

heavy wheel set is ICAN/hope 4 rims with Magic Mary super gravity and slicey smooth inserts, wheels weigh a ton but will be used for the more planted XC bigger days out, I had used this setup at Forest Dean and tbh it was wonderful there so could work at trail parks too, just not as agile

@carlbiker bike looking good! Have 2 wheelsets for mine, sold 2 bikes for the rise my light front wheel is 500g+ Lighter carbon rim with XR4i tyre compared to rebuilt AR30 on dt Swiss 350 hub & Mary 2.6 tyre more summer & winter sets

Somehow seems they did, it was through a pal who works at a company but did it as a favour really since Fox requires licensing

You could check these 2 places depending on what size & color you want - they seem to get stock regularly. Hopefully a local Orbea dealer would then be able to handle servicing etc.

Finally got the call that my M20 is ready for shipping so should be with me in a couple of weeks.
Got my Invisitrame, range extender, pedals, GA2 grips and spare set of wheels ready for winter rubber. Just need to get 203mm discs and decide between the neat but brittle Rockguardz, the Rockstop or bit ugly Amygos bash plate. OO think I've decided

Well survived Skiddaw on the weekend, I only agreed to go thinking the weather would be too good for being out of season but despite it being glorious when I set off at 5.30am it was pissing it down when I got there!

The scree descent to Ullock Pike handed my ass to me as I had a Zimmerframeesque off….I managed to crash the bike, commando roll (again) end up on my feet thinking I could stop and ended up doing a fell race for about 10 meters before just diving to the ground and preying to the mtb gods is not broken anything, which I hadn’t!

The climb upto it was hell on Earth, scree dh when wet same, ullock pike same but then things ease up a little and some great tracks unfold, last part is techy uphil stuff which was really fun.

I’m not yet ‘bike fit’ so this size of ride was a challenge for me to keep up with the other way more experienced and fitter guys but I’m glad I did it, been buzzing ever since!

Two of us had Rises and three were on full fat, I didn’t really feel a penalty, if anything it’s swings and roundabouts, I was able to get further on some of the more tricky uphill tech stuff than the others on full fat which I found interesting.

@carlbiker - I notice both Orbea riders had the extenders fitted - were they needed? Ride was 16 miles only but offset by big climbs. Just interested. I thought I would need one but not found the need yet but still think something like that would necessitate one...
