As far as I'm concerned, my target is not to see a bigger battery but to keep the weight in control (around 20 kg)

£4599-£5199-£6099 for the 3 specs, think m20/m10/mteam kind of specs (theyll be listed as H30 etc, im not sure exactly how it works). and ive been told to expect 21+ish kg by the time you have gotten some decent tyres and pedals on an m20 kind of spec. but, 4a charger, which is cool.

If 20 +1 or 2 kilos its Spectral and Levo Gen 3 territory but more nimble. However if there is no upgrade path for existing carbon Rises the resale value would be less than alu ones new. Maybe we can buy the extender with a discount ;-)

Don’t forget that the Rise has a EP8 RS then “only” 60Nm

They missed oportunity to improve some details, like introduce a battery level indicator .
Looking to an oportunity to do a test ride. Beeing a e-bike full power user, want to compare the feeling before considering buying one.
yeah it would make the bike complete if they had added some small LED somewhere with 5 levels. Then they could take the small annoying blutooth thing and stuff it inside the tube.

Might want to throw the new BH into any decision around buying a rise - very similar to the Rise but appears to trump it on paper at least - unknown would be the motor as its not from a well know player

According to PB new battery will not fit existing carbon Rise….

Says "Unfortunately, the carbon and alloy bikes have different battery mounts, so you can't fit the larger battery to a carbon Rise or the lighter one to the alloy bike."

Wonder how long until a 3D printed adaptor mount is made?

If you watch carefully the head of the downtube angle is slightly different and more long to store the new battery. New battery is a little bit longer and don't fit the carbon frame don't matter if you make or print an adaptor.

What do you rise owners think about this? Are the carbon ones still viable price wise ? I love my carbon rise but this is really a huge thing for new buyers.

this is a sucker punch to carbon rise owners tbh. alloy comes cheaper, with bigger battery, and weight gain is negligible if you already are using an extender.

Hmm I think that Orbea was competing with Specialized Levo and SL to rush something to the market and they took battery tech that was available back then.

Also heard rumors that they’ve did some work with other motor company that signed a contract with Specialized instead.

However with a proper product plan their management could and should have taken measures to provide the extended batteries to carbon Rise

I bought my M10 in may and got some 1000 km on it so far. Today I would have chosen the H15 without thinking of M10.

I don't think that's strictly fair. The whole EMTB scene is a rapidly changing and evolving market. Most of it's evolution not revolution.

Each week I see a different bike I think I'd like to buy because it's better with A & B even though it's worse with X & Y and it all depends what I think is my ideal on the day.

The original rise was/is an amazing bike for it's capabilities/weight. Yes, spec for spec it will always be slightly heavier than an SL, but then it has way more assistance and is quieter. Yes, it's pretty much a re-imagined version of the original Focus Jam with the E8000, carbon frame, smaller lighter battery but with a lighter motor and lighter components and a premium price. You pays your money, you take your choice.

The Hydro version is Aluminium, so it's heavier but more suitable for many. Has a larger battery by default. If they'd had the larger battery in the original one you have more weight and more weight higher up - it would have been a different bike - fortunately they had the range extender for anyone who did want more.

It's just another option. A Light heavyweight/semi skimmed.

I heard this too - Mahle so make the SL motor have a long standing relationship with Orbea, and I can well believe that the SL motor was originally destined for an Orbea
