It'll be a slash exe, with a bosch sx motor, I know a guy that knows a guy 😉
Thats where id like to see the long travel emtb's go. 46-48lbs , a bosch sx , smaller battery but extender compatable and triple clamp. 180+ travel. Mid power 55nm and 400w battery is all i need for spinning up logging roads for dh trails, bike park and lift laps. Keep the 155- 170 travel bikes as the do it all with full power big battery and then back down to sx with 400w battery for the 135- 150 rear travel trail emtb's.
That devinci troy e lite is the top contender in the category
IMO NTTAWWT(not that there is anything wrong with that ;) )

I'm just hoping we get an EXE with the new battery ASAP. I cant hold out much longer! ❤️ the TQ50's ride profile but cannot abide being limited to the 360 kw battery... and the weak range extender is almost like salt in the wound!

I believe this means the amount of suspension (170mm front forks, 170mm shock)

My bikes are 160mm/150mm. The amount of stroke a shock is capable of. 170/170 is too much for me. I’m only 5’9” and 160lbs. If I was 200+ lbs and taller , I might , might get a taller suspension.

I’m still trying to figure out the acronym(s) being thrown around in here …FWIW, FFS, IMO
FFS FWIW IMO 170X170 WOTTFMSOR
Work that one out

Finally got to see a real picture of the new bike and the specs. Release is next week. The inventory I saw available yesterday disappeared. Looks like it will be a blast in the mountains.

I hope not, I can't afford a new bike right now unless another parent dies...

It's an E-Slash 170 - 100% TQ with the new 580wh .
Personally I find this motor too weak. It's silent and natural but just not powerful enough, even in comparison to other lightweight motors (Fazua,Mahle,Bosch...)

Could it be 580w peak power, bigger tq motor? Or are we sure the 580 is battery W ?
Bigger battery. Link says:

"TQ has introduced a new 580Wh battery for its TQ HPR50 e-bike motor system. The good news is obviously the arrival of this higher capacity battery. The bad news is that, although it is compatible with TQ HPR50 motors, it is very likely that it will not be compatible with e-bikes that currently use the motor since it is larger in size than the 360Wh battery."

"580 Wh and a weight of 2.6 kg (260 Wh per kg)" Looks like solid numbers. Mahle SL 320W (1.8kg) + 160W extender (1kg) make for 480Wh at 2.8kg combination.
Looks like waiting for better battery package proved smart from Trek. Should be right around the YT's numbers, +/- 21KG before pedals for upper-tier enduro builds.

Same weight btw as 600W from DJI.

It'll be good when manufacturers start making their motor/controller/battery systems more modular and upgradeable. Nearly everything else on the bike is modular and upgradeable, but not the key electronic systems--the parts that are most likely to need an upgrade or replacement as electrics fail or technology improves.

500Wh Bosch Powertube batteries that came with our 2022 Trek Rail 5's weigh 2.9kg. 625Wh batteries weigh 3.5kg. We have both.

Ladles and jellyspoons, please note there is an Embargo in place until the 25th. Please do not post any more pictures or links until it is lifted.

You all have google so can hunt around the net yourselves.

Since it's online and we are in 2024, can you explain the reasoning in not alowing to post pics ? Are you operating for your viewers/members or for the bike brands ?
If a brand can't keep their embargo, tough for them and they need to do a better job at it.
Leaked pics and info is part of the interent and happens in almost every industry like cars,phones...
If leaked a few months ahead with old stock in the warehouse,I can somehow understand, but pics that are leaked a couple of days before launch can't really harm a brand commercially.

Embargo’s are so dumb. Just seems overly corporate and sales-hungry like sleazy toothpaste marketing. Product release from a golf course with white pants. All the reviews will be great because they just got a $10k vacation expensed.

I’d rather have 360w (x2) than 580 (x1). Day 3 at sun peaks, today I’m going to try riding the lifts without a battery.
