Anyone have any insight into Shimano coming out with a new motor and larger batteries in 2020. The motor is sound but only 70nm of torque and the smaller 504 wh batteries. Seems they are the last to upgrade,

Looks like some of the comments really hit a nail that Shimano does not want to disclose.
New Motor called EP8, new 630wh internal battery, and updated Apps/Software. Likely launch date in Autumn this year, though Covid 19 may alter that - manufacturers will have the updated systems in 2021 lineups. Unsure if controllers and peripherals are updated too, or if multiple motors to be launched.
From what we saw new battery is longer than existing, but cant confirm

There are 630Wh non-Shimano batteries that have been integrated into Shimano-based eMTBs. Not sure this is the new Shimano battery.
