I just installed a rebuilt motor in my bike. Less than half the price of a replacement or new. $500 CDN. A battery is friggen expensive though.

Cleaned up the motor mount bolts but I stuck on the new Bosch badge crooked.

Where did you get yours repaired?
Cyclo Chrome in Hull Quebec. I believe they are associated with the Motor Repair Centre in the UK.

The price for servicing and rebuilding was fairly reasonable. Shipping was included in the estimate.

I’m gonna test it out tomorrow …but on the bench it seems to turn nice and quiet. We’ll see?

Haha . Seems I could get a reconditioned motor £600 and probably get a battery not exactly sure about that cost say 700 . New bike ????. Seen a Sworks today in Tiso £6800
So recon motor £600 with new battery £700=£1,300 for the bike setup just the way you want vs £6,800 for a new bike? Hmmm, tricky decision.

Worth a few phone calls at least. I wouldn't be buying a 7 grand bike though. But a cycle to work one could be gotten in a few months . So much to choose from I wouldn't know where to start .

Decisions decisions 🤔. Motor still ok I'm thinking battery may be slightly less range. Charged fully on Monday night and plans changed so plugged it in yesterday morning to check and it took 20 minutes to top up again.

Could be the BMS doing the re-balancing thing again, think mine does that when plugged in again after a full recharge.

Reduced range could also be caused by colder weather perhaps? Think our ranges are lower in winter.

Yes too cold to try a battery range test on eco. Definitely less miles in cold but I wouldn't be doing more than 30 miles in winter.

It's a shame the spesh app doesn't give an honest battery health. You could try blevo, not sure if that works anymore.

Check with @Bearing Man for an approx max rebuild cost. Your motor isn't that old though.

New bikes are nice though 😁
Motor is 2 years in April 3400ish miles but two of the lugs had a crack in them when I put it back in . One lug sheared off when I torqued it up. So wondered about a reconditioned one. Probably need or want a battery soon , service shocks new bearings it all mounts up . 2 grand or 4 ???? .As you say new bikes nice . But what one would i pick.

I think @irie would suggest the Amflow.

Super discount levo 3? Really cheap Raymon (search the forum) ? Mondraker with ohlins., just for looks.

Wait until April and get a gen4 levo ? Will be expensive though.
Had a wee spin on mates Amflow , great but battery not removable and shed cold so that's out sadly, dealer not far away either. Hard picking I know folk with bosch and shimano motors on 3rd in a lot less miles than I got . Not a big choice locally pay full price. Berkshire cycles a Hard act to follow as well with the service I've had from them.

Yup, for you a gen3 from Berkshire is probably your best bet. It's a known quantity and you're familiar with it.

Personally I would pick something that I'm familiar with, can move nice bits from my current bike onto, and hopefully a supportive LBS. But YMMV of course.

Edit: betcha @Bearing Man has spare cases to replace yours with broken lugs.
Yes I have enjoyed levo and I got a new frame in November 21 as well . Speak to bearing man I think. If I could rebuild for not too much it could also be kept as a spare bike . YMMV ? Your milage may vary

No problem, we have hundreds of cases, it's a relatively common repair for us. Also, if for any reason your motor is beyond economical repair, you can part exchange it with us against a new or factory remanufactured motor, we can also supply these upgraded.
