So now that I finished with all my upgrades and got the bike dialed in to my liking. Here are a few pics of the transformation.

I wanted to see if I could save some money by using some old parts and change out some key components to end up with a bike that matched some of the higher end models for less money . I’m an aggressive rider so I knew one of the main things was to upgrade the fork. I noticed there was a lot of flex for my riding style. I just like a solid/ stiff feeling bike so change components out to try and achieve that feeling. Here is a list:

Yari fork with charge 2 damper
I9 hubs laced to derby carbon hoop 30mm
Sram code R brakes f/r
Raceface atlas pedals
Raceface six carbon bars
Renthal 35 mm stem
Der Beron/ der Kiser 2.4 tires
Manic dropper post
And a piece of clear 3m tape to keep all the junk out of my motor case.

did you ride with the original fork at all?
A short ride is all it took for me figure out I would be pushing the fork past it’s limits. I noticed it would flex more than my Yari I had on my old stumpjumper and it didn’t have the plush feel of it ether. So I made the decision to swap the forks out.

What travel did you maintain for the Yari? Was looking at a second hand Yari (which also came out of a Stympjumper) and thinking up upgrading it to a Charger 2 Damper as well as the Debonair Air Springs to around (170-180).

@2manytickets could you take a picture like the one I'm attaching of the I9 hub on your bike? rear end image request.jpg
So, bike upside down, taken on the non-drive side so that the camera is looking directly at the outer edge of the magnet & weld connecting the dropout and the seat stay. I'd like to see the gap and if my thingamajig might be doable for the I9 hubs.

I kept it at 150 mm of travel. After running it for so long I didn’t see a need to increase the travel. But who knows it might be fun to try.

I can but it won’t be until this weekend as I am working out of town. What is this thingamajig you speak of?

Noticed it’s been a while since I’ve updated my post. I’ve ridden the hell out of the bike with no issues. I’ve been really happy with my upgrades, fork, tires, brakes bars and stem. I also installed an eagle gx 12spd was able to use BLEvo to bump up my speed limit. Any ways here are some pics. “Ride it like you stole it”

Are you happy with your tires? In the wet the standard tires are so bad I can’t believe it. I have been using Continental tires for a long time on my normal bike and I like the we grip from the compound but don't know which tires to get so I consider the Der Baron/ Der Kaiser 2.4 tires as well.

Yes the tire combo has work out great. I run 26psi front and 28psi rear and they hooked up way better than the butcher ever did. The rear has taken a beating but the front is holding up well. I think I might try a trail king for the rear next.

Great. In fact I am considering Mud kings since the winter is coming :)
The standard tires are slippery on tarmac even, especially wet tarmac.
