Current running a focus SAm2 where I have a flip switch where can do mullet setup. When I done this I have now have a small problem where my brake caliper not not lining up due to dropping to 27.5 losing bout 38mm as current got 203mm rotor, is my thinking correct if I purchase a brake mount for a 160mm this would balance it out?

Any advice would appreciated

Caliper shouldn`t be affected .
The disc is on the hub and is not affected by wheel diameter . Are you thinking in terms of rim brakes ?

Or does the flip chip change the position of the caliper ??

I mulletised my Levo , just bolted up the axle and out the door .

I think the Sam2 has got adjustable chainstays.

That makes sense .
The flip chip moving the position of the brake disc . Live and learn .

Fans of 27.5-inch wheels should not fear, by switching the orientation of the flip-chip you have the option to ride the smaller wheels if required. This reduces the chainstays to a super-short 430mm, shortening the wheelbase and providing a more nimble ride character.

Your Sam2 has frame-specific adaptors for the two different dropout settings:

Hi mate know this old thread but how did you find a mullet set up , thinking of trying it but would mean I need to but the 27.5 wheel so bit expensive for experimenting, currently I find the bike a lil clumbsy on slow , techs off piste sections wondering if this will make a difference

Well just in case anyone is thinking about doing it …. It’s great 👍 I’ve changed to mullet and the bike is more nimble feeling even at slow speed, it’s how the bike should have came for me
