Hi all, I had my first ride today on a (hire) BMC Trailfox AMP1 and it was great to be back in the saddle. Disappointing how much fitness you loose by the climb back starts now :)

My question is what is the best to reduce vibrations through the bars and raise the handlebar height? The bike had plus Fox 36 front end but the bars and grips were like concrete. The next was good, a couple of tweaks to remind me its only 14 weeks since the op but I think the backside will be sorer tomorrow than the neck

Good for you. I took a few low speed tumbles going around switchbacks and the neck crackled, it was a wake up call to respect limitations for a while. Anyway i took out the the volume spacers except one in the fox 36 and it helped as well as installed a higher angle stem to get the bars just above the seat. I hope your recovery progresses well
