Motor noise check 2022 Trance X E+

Hello fellow EMTB'ers.
I recently purchased a used Trance X E+ from Pro's Closet before they shut down.
The motor seems to make a loud grinding sound. Can somebody check if this is abnormal or should I just ignore and ride it?
No other symptoms that I can tell besides the noise, the bike rides fine.

Sounds like grit or dirt stuck in the plastic motor cover around the crank axle. Had this on my Reign and a clean and lube sorted it

I can try that, but since the noise also happens when i stop pedaling (and the motor is winding down) I wonder if it's a bearing. Did you have to pull the cranks to remove the cover?

Just listened again and the higher pitched whining is the motor and the overun sound is normal. The crunchy sound is the same as mine when crud got behind the cover.
I never bothered removing the cranks I just loosened it off and gave it a rinse out and a spray with some silicon lube. Been fine since but they’re not the quietest motor anyway

The intermitted crunchy sound (5-9 sec mark of the video) is what i'm worried about. I'll try to loosen the cover later today and see if i can clear any debris out.
