Lines on new fork (Zeb) stanchions. Is it normal?

Just received my new Zeb and upon inspection I have found 4 lines (2 in every stanchions) in almost symmetrical positions front & back.

I understand that it is a fork and will get lines & scratchers in the future but is it normal to have them from brand new?

Those lines are scratches and they will trap fine debris that will get carried past the seals and into the fork. You do not want that!

I'm willing to bet that the seller will say it was fine when they shipped it! :(

I bought it from Alltricks.com and it hasn't been used (the steerer is uncut, no starnut installed, everything is still in their plastic bags) so I would be surprised to hear them say that it is fine. I have already sent them an email about the return process and I will give them a couple of days to reply and if they decline my return requests I will then go though PayPal.

Looks like you have a very good case! :)

And don't expect for will get scraches. You should protect it and keep it clean, so it won't get any scraches.

Scratches from use are expected and my forks have a few eventhough I take good care of them but it is the first time I get a brand new fork with such scratches. And when I say a brand new fork I really mean it.

Perhaps it's not "brand new"? I don't mean as in used before. Maybe it has been already rejected by someone else and just returned to stock by some know-nothing.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case but for sure the steerer is uncut and there are no signs of a starnut installed. I will give Altircks a couple of days to reply and then go though PayPal if necessary. I could also go to the local distributor to check it as part of the warranty process but since it is brand new I would prefer to get either a new one or a full refund.

If I was you I would first get a full refund, then after that buy a new Zeb from somewhere else. If you agree to an exchange for another "new" Zeb from Alltricks you risk having to go through the same process again.

Full refund would be my first option.
