I reckon 2025 is going to be the year non chines ebike companies really will start struggling financially just look at EV Tesla the king for years then suddenly chines BYD turned up and they are only in the initial phase and now Amflow with chinese engine. G4 is still not on the market but Specialized is going to get the hardest time ever.

Massive 50% write down on Specialized market value by Merida - from a timing perspective not the best time to launch a new bike.

Sure! So I should sell my gen.3 to upgrade, spend at least 5000 euros to buy let's say a Vala, and have a battery with 100 W/h less, take another 500 euros from my wallet for the RE and do the same things I do today with my bike? Mmmmm...
I suspect you have read my reply incorrectly.

If you read it again, I’m saying the 700w/h battery is a better compromise than an RE.

They are launching within a few weeks so if the market don't love the price what do Specialized do with the massiv stock of G3 - it's a catch-22

It's not a good time to buy and sell either. Look at the car market in Europe: the best-selling car is the Dacia Sandero, a spartan and cheap car compared to the others... people don't have money to spend anymore and if they have to spend they do it wisely. Just to be clear, the Dacia Sandero is the CUBE of e-bikes... a good bike that focuses on the quality/price ratio. It's all getting really expensive, I just spent 320 euros to have my fork and shock absorber serviced...
I'm seriously considering keeping my gen 3 for a very long time, overhauling the engine when necessary and replacing the battery if it dies...

At the very least, the upcoming levo should have coasting (intentional), pedal kick mode, fast charger, a decent display, an engine that doesn't need to be throttled for it to work.

for 5900 eur you can buy today, ebike with all this new things:
intentional overrun, maneuver through rough terrain with a pedal kick (bosch), multiple magnetic pick-up (dji) 2.8h charging (dji) or an equivalent display (dji).

I understand but its all about personal preferences, I am riding my gen 2 Levo with 7000km 90% of the time 35/55 assist, so I dont need more powerful motor, and dont care too much about charging or display, just pure Enduro ride with assist in steep hills.

5900 euros is a good price but because of that how much can I sell my two year old comp carbon for? Suddenly that price of 5900 is not so great for a bike designed four years ago...

Have a set of I9’s on my meat powered bike, had to buy a ti axle because I broke 3 rear axles in alloy. If you plan on running I9’s on a e bike, plan on a axle replacement.
I agree, I have had 2 sets of i9 wheels (305 rim, Hydra hubs) that have failed. I replaced the rear hub bearings at about 1300 miles. For the $1400 I spent for the set, my next wheels won’t be i9. What I liked was an American company and what I thought was a great product, not so much anymore. I can say thier customer service is really good though.

I would, Bosch is a better motor and the Vala is overall a much better bike.

Still much better price than basic 600Wh Vala with similar spec for 8600 eur.

If you can afford a Vala it’s a much better bike.

Everyone is speaking about how fast and the performance of the DJI
You can buy a Toyota GTR with that does 0-60 in 3 seconds THEN YOU CAN BUY A PORSCHE GT S4 same speed but dude it’s a frikken Porsch
So you want cheap Chinese fast gogo bike then buy the DJI you want the leader of the pack for past ten years buy a Specialized

And what is ''much better''? Because geometry is very similar, it has smaller capacity battery and mechanical GX derailleur with basic Fox float suspension for 8500 eur is absolute joke.
Only one thing I like is that motor in the frame looks nice and small.

Everything that matters is better like the frame and motor. Components can be changed just like you changed everything on your Levo.

Big flaw with the dji is there is no provision for a bash guard. They say you can mount one on the spider but I suspect that will kill the motor quickly.

The only thing what may be better and more reliable is motor. But the point is, for almost 3000 Eur price difference I can buy Fox Factory suspension and carbon wheels and then Levo will blow out that overpriced joke.

Perfect analogy, because Nissan make the GT-R and many people consider it their dream car

No, it’s the same price so $14k and $12k in the US. The UK always gets screwed on pricing, all they do is change the $ to a £ and that’s what we pay. I don’t think I’ve ever seen different pricing for the £ only €.

FWIW, I’ll have about $12k in my Crestline when it’s finished, that’s with a Push shock/fork, AXS transmission/dropper, Berd carbon wheels etc.
your price is already with VAT included. those american prices are not.
