Bottom line, Santa Cruz sold you a full power e bike with a below market trend sized battery at a premium price. For the money you paid, you should have received a range extender with the bike. Santa Cruz somehow convinced people that they should pay more money for less batteries. A e bike with a Bosch motor and a 600wh battery should cost less than a e bike with a Bosch motor 800wh battery. Vala riders should just accept they got ripped off…. Maybe form some support groups to deal with the fact they got ripped off.

Nah, 600 is perfect not everyone needs or wants 800. I'm in UT, I've never rode the trails in NJ maybe they have more vert and a bigger battery is needed.

You have no idea what people are paying for bikes, I got my Vala GX for way less than what a Turbo Levo Comp Carbon costs.

I hope they come out with the GEN4 soon, I want to see it but I would never be caught dead riding a Specialed.

I have a Gen 3 with over 7k miles and 150 cycles with no motor battery issues. I read this site daily about failures and I've come to the conclusion it must be folks who tend to use turbo 100% of the time in higher gear ranges. I do tend to be a higher cadence rider. I'm taking mine to the dealer for the first time just before the 2yr mark next week, just to get a visit on record before the 2-year mark.

I use turbo during maybe 3% of the duration of my rides and the motor went south so go figure

Well 2022 up to date don't have a wiring harness in the frame, something some other brands have started with. When I got my light mounted, the assembly cost almost as much as the light since almost the entire bike had to be taken apart to get it professionally done.

I have done 6100km in 11 months in all types of weather Mostly in turbo on G3 but I don't really care if the motor explode since I'm very lucky according to norvegia The Consumer Purchase Act to have 5 years warranty so I'm actually hoping the motor explodes in 2-3 years since it's a bit difficult to sell a bike with 20000km on the odometer.

Cool you compared an aluminum bike to a carbon bike. They are actually quite close in price when you compare carbon to carbon and try match components but I’m not sure you will not understand that.

Just my opinion, we will find out...but I predict everybody will be wrong about these "rumors" in 1-2 years. (Call me out for being wrong, and I will own that.) Just my gut feeling. Of course, that is a Prediction, for which the outcome, I have no idea,,...so don't bet on that, the casino will crush you ...

Whatever it eventually is, that powers the next Spec bike, I think, will be (or should be) really cooler than the last and best at this time... I would bet on that, the odds are in favor at that casino. ....(but you could still lose BIG. )

I personally, truly and sincerely LOVE, that ebikes are getting better, doesn't matter (to me at least), which brand is doing it at the moment. Spec has high expectations, clearly. But the future is uncertain.

Who cares?...It's LOVE. Love for ebikes.

I actually wanted to wait for the Gen 4, but then I got an offer with a big discount on the Gen 3 Comp Alloy. I didn't have to wait any longer.

200g for 200 watts… can’t imagine they would bother with the smaller battery

I noticed that too, but. it. can't. be right... batteries are. around 200wh/kg, so having a difference of only 200g doesn't make any sense.

Anyway, still surprised the new brose motor is still claiming the numbers they already claimed at their first announcement 2 years back, feels like they should have upgraded the motor during all that delay. I am hoping. though specialised has somehow tweaked both he motor and the battery if that's what they are using, just from motor and battery. they would be 0.4(motor) +0.3(800 wh battery) = 700g heavier than DJI/amflow ( I don't even care much about peak power etc.). I mean I know they might still create a better bike, but it definitely feels underwhelming for Specialized to eventually make a new bike released nearly a year later than their rivals and be nearly 1kg heavier(the frame should be heavier,considering how Flexi Amflow seems to be) and underpowered(as I. said I personally don't find it that important... but even. marketing wise it definitely affects possible buyers).... we will see I guess..!

I guess we had the Drive T (C911) which Spesh used, but with their own firmware (Eventually 20 amp). Then the Drive S and the Drive S mag.

The Drive 3 - or Drive 3 Peak (not sure if that means there will be different none peak versions ?) .

Most likely they'll just have their own firmware if it is the Drive 3. Or they could call it the Drive 4 for the Gen4 just to be different. Like they did with the Gen3 release when they said it had the "New" 2.2 motor - which was exactly the same at launch to the 2.1 motor ...
