Bosch is not just a contender,it's the leading system at the moment when you take into account service and proven reliability.
And once the 100nm and wireless screen arrive this summer,it will be up there with any other system in terms of features and tech.

But will still be behind on peak power by 20%

What I liked is the fact that the main pack and the extender worked in dual mode(discharged simultaneously) until 10% remaining on the main battery pack.
why? thats fucking stupid. range extender should be empty first, like on the rise, so it can go back to the backpack. who wants to change the weight distribution of the bike and general handling for 90% of the riding?

It's optional as far as I know, and a range extender on it's own is really weak to consistently power a FF ebike. Probably the name 》range extender 《 says that it's not meant for trail riding, but to extend range, so more for the long days in the wilderness, at the end it's personal choice...

Broke the thread a bit with this🙆‍♂️ back to the Levo shall we ✌️😉

Any leaks in sight 👀

yes, a range extender, not a weight extender. i used the rise one to get up the (first) mountain, then had a full main battery for the rest of the trip. and no extra weight on the downhill that makes the bike feel sluggish due to increased center of weight

Yeah, cos who doesn't want a heavy inflexible lump in their backpack when they fall off...

What do you do with the discharged range extender after the first climb, throw it in the bushes?

Ok, so it’s in your back pack, but it doesn’t really make that much difference surely.

I use range extenders on both my Jam2 and the Levo SL, they work fine for an extended ride, but the main benefit is when you leave them behind on shorter rides, it’s good to have the option is the point.

2025 Levo will have an ~850WH battery with an optional 250~300WH range extender. The battery will be modular and can be taken out from the side of the frame, allowing for quick swaps, there will also be no drag when running no battery. There will also be a 600WH option to save weight.

The normal models will come with 100NM of Torque. The S-works model will have 111NM of Torque.

The S-works will be priced around $18,000.

Release will be early to mid april.

re on the bike changes handling on the way down, re in the backpack adds about the same weight of all the water i drank on the way up, so my pack wheighs about the same as on the bottom of the hill, yet the bike handles as it should. if you don't feel the difference, you don't really bike

If I understand correctly, the power is reduced (at least on the LEVO SL) as soon as the battery reaches the 20% mark, regardless of whether it's the internal battery or the RE.
This means that if I use the RE first and then the internal battery, I go through the 20% limit twice and have the power loss twice. So it makes sense to use the batteries in parallel...

the sl is different to the rise, yet still better than the bosch. with the rise, i could remove the re when i had about 60% combined capacity (re goes empty first), with the sl this takes longer as both empty together. if bosch uses power of the re up to 10% main battery, then its not the same amount from both batteries which sounds dumb af to me

This is a shame, from what i am told the new bike has been ready for same time like Q3 last year, but they are concerned that dealers still have a lot of stock of the current range to move. Waiting this long is a mistake IMO.

what does a company do in that situation I wonder? They can't afford to just sit still forever and wait for everything to sell from old stock - their company will become irrelevant, stuck in a point in time of development, with other brands releasing new products.

But if they release the new bike earlier, they are looking at taking a loss on the old stock or perhaps even recouping some of the loss by breaking the bikes back into components and using for warranty etc?

Perhaps they'll have to become the latest "boris bikes" in london!

Simple, they’re a US based company. They can take a massive loss on their leftover inventory, claim those losses on their taxes and get back 95% of the money. The US tax code is extremely generous to businesses if you have a good accountant, I’m sure Spesh has a decent one.

Lower the prices. The bike industry's lack of will to adapt to the current market is already putting companies out of business. The average person is facing a massive cost of living increase over the last 2-3 years meanwhile manufactures have price insane jumps every year. $18k for a new S works Levo? Are they nuts? At that price a comp spec is gonna be near $10K. They have left reality.

That's only $162.162162162162 recuring per nm !

If an existing s-works is about €14500 and has 90nm then that's $161.11111111 recuring per nm.

So effectively, if that's how they've worked out their pricing - then it's virtually exactly the same as it was !! Take into account inflation and you have a veritable bargain !! :)

At those prices there is probably still a limited market there but I can't see all the not rich/regular riders swapping out their levos for 8K GBP comps.

In Spain it is the latest Levo SL the one that has bigger disccounts right now, bigger than the current Levo . It could mean they are worried that new Levo could be so similar to the current SL in terms of weight and look and feel but with an stronger motor that customers prefer it the new Levo SL as soon as they release it. Kenevo SL has not such disccounts either. My point is that new Levo could go in the direction of a capable all mountain rather than an hard enduro bike.

The SLs were a hard sell here in Uk and were discounted from the off, the SPZ store i use said that they were a pointless bike, have to agree. I had a go on one thought it was rubbish the motor was so loud, and the power was just pointless. Dont think they are holding back for SLs, still a good few few S works Levos around that have been selling well at discounted prices.

Hope the display looks like this... could be off the shelf with a spec branding... and neat battery... could fit a extra in my backpack for longer races
